U.S. Officials Believe Weekend Bombings Connected, Man Hunt Underway

Authorities have said multiple explosions over the weekend in New York and New Jersey are connected and a terror cell may be responsible.  Early Monday morning the Federal Bureau of Investigation performed raids in Elizabeth, NJ, following leads related to the weekend’s events.  Current efforts are underway to locate Ahmad Khan Rahami, a twenty-eight-year-old Afghan born male, thought to be involved in the attacks.

The events in New York and New jersey came on the same weekend as an ISIS inspired individual attacked nine people in a Minnesota shopping center in St. Cloud.

There was no indication that the events in NY/NJ were related to the incident in Minnesota.  However, while the individual perpetrators may not be interconnected, their ideology and source of direction remain the same, radical Islam.
