Regardless of who wins the November 2016 Presidential election, the victor will be confronted by Vladimir Putin’s increasingly aggressive administration. The new U.S. President will be the fourth such individual to face Putin, who is serving as Russia’s President for the second time. His first term spanned from 1999-2008, which was immediately followed by a four year stint as the country’s Prime Minister. Putin was re-elected as President in 2012.
