The U.S. Navy Sailor Killed in Syria Has Been Identified

The first U.S. service member publicly acknowledged as being killed battling ISIS in Syria has been identified as Senior Chief Petty Officer Scott Cooper Dayton.  Dayton served in a U.S. Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) unit and was reportedly killed by an improvised explosive device (IED) in Syria.
