Libya Emerging as Next ISIS Stronghold

Efforts in Iraq and Syria have been successful, but more attention must be placed on other ISIS hotspots around the globe.


As the Iraqi-military led effort to eradicate ISIS from its stronghold in Mosul has garnered significant success in recent weeks, Libya may be emerging as the group’s next base of operations.
 
With ties to the most recent high profile attack in a western city, Libya’s status as an ISIS safe haven has been elevated and will no doubt garner even more attention from military and intelligence services throughout the western world.
