An Invite to Stupid’s Climate Party

By: - March 16, 2019

If stupidity were contagious, I would don a surgical mask every time I watch TV. If man-made climate change were real, I would seek advice from a bartender. Bartender schools must have courses in physics and climatology; at least that’s the impression I get from TV.

When every newscast includes a segment with a bartender-turned-congressperson telling us the world has 12 years before human extinction while wagging a finger in my face proclaiming “I’m the boss,” it makes a double vodka martini on the rocks seem like a very logical response. And then when a politician is interviewed saying that costs of a solution proposed by the bartender-turned-congressperson will tabulate more money than God has, while claiming there’s no need to worry, I’ll find a way, I know it’s going to take more than one double vodka martini on the rocks to cope. Hell, forget the vermouth.

Dumb and Dumber

In the world of dumb, this is Guinness quality. A TV discussion panel covering a medical subject would certainly include a doctor; if the subject were law, they would invite a lawyer to appear. Any subject involving the arcane needs an expert in the respective field to lend credence to the presentation. So, why not do so with climate? I watch a lot of TV involving issues and I have yet to see a talking head that knows anything about climate, much less man-made climate change. Instead of some pip-squeak talking about planet death, I would like someone to discuss if this is a real threat.

But where to find such a person is apparently an insurmountable obstacle. Doomsday enthusiasts tell us that 97 to 99 percent of climatologists agree with them. After my third “toonie,” I did a little research which took the better part of a minute to find a climatology heretic because my laptop is running a little slow. From a Fox News website, I found John Christy, head of the Atmospheric Sciences Department of the University of Alabama in Huntsville, “agrees that CO2 levels are increasing and the planet has warmed slightly, but his research indicates computer models that predict catastrophic consequences of climate change are unrealistic.”

Pacific Decadel Oscillation

On a website titled “Global Warming Hoax Refuting the Myth of Man-made Global Warming,” I find a paper by Dr. Roy Spencer, “Global Warming as a Natural Response to Cloud Changes Associated with the Pacific Decadal Oscillation (PDO).” From the abstract of his paper: “…with the Pacific Decadal Oscillation is shown to mimic the major features of global average temperature change during the 20th Century—including three quarters of the warming trend.”

In conclusion, Dr. Spencer’s paper says, “The evidence continues to mount that the IPCC models are too sensitive, and therefore produce too much global warming. If climate sensitivity is indeed considerably less than the IPCC claims it to be, then increasing CO2 alone can not explain recent global warming. The evidence presented here suggests that most of that warming might well have been caused by cloud changes associated with a natural mode of climate variability: the Pacific Decadal Oscillation.”

It would be interesting to hear the bartender-turned-congressperson give her views on Pacific Decadal Oscillation. “Hear AOC on PDO,” would be a compelling promo.

Beguiling Speech (BS for short) is the life support system for this climate change hoax and it’s time to pull the plug and gently drive a stake through this vampire’s heart.
