Wray and Coats Warn: China! China! China!

FBI Director Christopher Wray warns of broad Chinese infiltration and influence attempts in its efforts to replace the U.S. as the leading world power.

According to a Business Insider report, Wray warned at a Senate Intelligence Committee hearing that China is attempting to assert its influence in atypical and pervasive fashion from physically on college campuses to its presence and efforts in the cyber realm.

“One of the things we’re trying to do is view the China threat as not just a whole-of-government threat, but a whole-of-society threat on their end,” Wray said. “And I think it’s going to take a whole-of-society response by us.”

Paul Manafort Indicted – Still No Proof Russia Rigged 2016 Election

Former campaign manager for President Donald Trump, Paul Manafort is facing 12 charges NOT related to the presidential campaign or any Russian conspiracy on Election 2016, according to a report by BBC News. Instead, they are the result of Manafort’s pre-campaign business dealings with Ukraine as part of his work for pro-Russian politicians up to 2016. The charges include but are not limited to: conspiracy against the United States, conspiracy to launder money in the millions and tax fraud. Manafort was fired from the campaign by Trump in August 2016 when details of his Ukraine ties emerged.

Trump Administration Refugee ‘Ban’ Lifted

As intended, the Trump administration has lifted the court-challenged temporary June ban on the U.S. accepting refugees from all countries for 120 days as new vetting procedures are put in place.

According to a Wall Street Journal report, those from 11 targeted countries of concern will be subject to new additional vetting rules and procedure are put in place to screen applicants. The new protocol includes the collection of expanded biographical data as well as social media mining. More effort will also be made to cross reference data collected with the individual’s interview and public pronouncements, such as social media posts. New guidance and fraud detection training is also in store for government officials who do the screening and the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services agency.
