Trump Bashes Fox News for ‘Loading Up’ on Democrats

By: - July 8, 2019

President Donald Trump lashed out at Fox News on Sunday, tweeting his displeasure with the news organization. In a tweet, the President claimed Fox News “is now loading up with Democrats & even using Fake unsourced @nytimes as a ‘source’ of information.” Trump also blasted the news network for wanting to host the “very BORING Dem Debates.”

President Trump has repeatedly lambasted the New York Times, CNN, and other mainstream news networks, alleging that they are spreading “fake news.” However, he has generally been kind to Fox News. Now, Trump claims that watching the weekend daytime anchors on Fox News was actually worse than the “low ratings fake news @CNN, or lyin’ Brian Williams.”

Trump took particular issue with Fox News hiring Donna Brazile, who worked at CNN and was caught sharing information with Hillary Clinton’s 2016 Presidential campaign. Trump found it “unimaginable” that Fox News would hire Brazile, who was fired by CNN.

While Trump has criticized Fox News before, the barrage of tweets over the weekend was perhaps the strongest rebuke yet. Trump reportedly watches Fox News for up to 8 hours a day and seems to rely on the news network as his primary media source of information.

One researcher spent months studying the relationship between Trump and Fox News. He found that Trump is often tweeting messages, statements, and ideas that appeared on Fox News just moments before the president tweeted them. Other news organizations have also reported that there is a correlation between Fox News and what the president is tweeting.

Will Fox News remain a favorite with President Trump after this weekend? Or might the president find a new news outlet? Guess we’ll find out via Twitter soon enough.
