Wake Up! It’s Time for School

By: - April 3, 2019

I am your average guy. Been around a while but no ties to anything that is remotely “connected.” Still on the bottom rung of the ladder, I am proud to be one of the “schlumps” who takes it in the backside for the benefit of the Establishment every day. So why are you exercising your vocal cords now? you wonder.

The Mueller Report shined a bright light on a lot more than what the Russians were up to three or four years ago, and didn’t even do a good job of that. So that you don’t misinterpret what I mean, they never acknowledged how pissed Putin was at Hillary for her role in his 2012 election when she was U.S. secretary of state. This is very well documented.

I always wondered who the Establishment is. I could never find a score card with their uniform numbers on it but Mueller brought them out from behind their senators and congressmen screaming bloody murder. Heck, some of them are senators and congressmen.

What no one should miss is that this delusion called the Mueller investigation brought into clear focus the disintegration of our institutions, institutions existing supposedly to protect us from Establishment predations.

Story Summary

Our story begins in 1961 with The New Frontier which bled into The Great Society following the 1964 election. With great fanfare, we were told that it would eliminate poverty and improve inner city quality of life which saw the ADC (Aid to Dependent Children) part of the program eliminate males from inner city families and create a jungle infested with gangs and drugs.

In the next 57 years, we experienced a burgeoning bureaucracy which made Washington D.C. the wealthiest metropolitan area in the country and, after adjustment for inflation, tripled the per capita cost of government. All of this left a growing share of the population screaming for term limits. The Establishment definitely got established.

In 2016, one of us “average guy” types got to be president of the United States, praise the Lord, and began to speak truth to power. This guy is Donald J. Trump who is a burst of fresh air from the Bush and Clinton types we kept electing. His truth to power has aggravated the powerful to the point of desperation which brought Mueller on the scene. And now his work is done and it is time for we “average” people to act.

What’s Next?

There is a lot of clucking I told you so! after Mueller, but I have no desire to add to that. The most interesting question is: Where do we go from here? First of all, term limits is a terrible answer obscuring the real culprit, our own ignorance, which is discussed in detail in a previous OpsLens article I wrote. Bottom line: smarter voters will get a better choice of candidates.

If you really want to fix a broken system and get rid of all the beguiling speech (BS for short), get smart. To find out how smart you really are, begin with the citizenship quiz that all immigrants must pass before naturalization. If you fail that, you really shouldn’t vote which is an acceptable alternative to learning about your country.

Polite Conversation, the PC predecessor to Politically Correct speech, dictated that we should not talk about religion or politics to which I say, “beguiling speech.” Although I don’t know the source of that dictum, I suspect it was started by a politician who was already reaching for your pocket. As to the religion part of the rule, sadly, most people couldn’t care less anymore.

Lights, Camera, Action!

Here’s what you can do instead of watching a crappy sitcom with a laughtrack sounding like fingernails on a blackboard or a “drama” with grisly every five to ten minutes in lieu of dialogue and acting.

  • Instead of your next visit to the “AP” store to buy a new way to fidget your time away, look up a news item that caught your eye today and do a little in-depth on it.
  • Research an answer you weren’t sure of when you tried the citizenship test.
  • Form a small weekly discussion group meeting in somebody’s living room to talk about current events. An agenda would help keep the focus on the business at hand.
  • Discuss issues with those of different political leanings. We are all in this together.

The last time people got so fed up with government, they took a cruise on a sailing vessel called the Mayflower and cast their lot with savages. There’s a new brand of savages seeking control and it’s time to wise up. It’s a do-it-yourself project.

Eight years ago, the leftist media took great offense to being dismissed by Donald Trump as "fake news," but they never seemed to grasp this is exactly how they painted the conservative media, as truth-defying propaganda outlets.
