Who is In Charge, Mr. Trump? You or Your Wife?

By: - November 20, 2018

The nonsense that flatulates from this presidency on a daily basis is astonishing. The First Lady wanted the Deputy National Security Adviser to be fired. Hey, I’m all for it—along with her boss, John Bolton, who is almost certainly conspiring ways to get us into another disastrous war with Iran and/or North Korea.

But wait a minute, what does Melania know about national security that allows her to call for such a move? And who the heck is she to make such a determination? To say that chaos reigns in the White House is an understatement. It’s a joke. As I’ve said multiple times on this website: We are the laughingstock of the world.

Wait! This just in from Designated Survivor—West Wing: It seems that Ms. Ricardel is indeed out as Deputy NSA. Poor John Bolton. He’s just another political hack waiting for the guillotine to fall. And John Kelly and Kirstjen Nielsen (or any other hack in the Trump administration).

Is anyone who supports Trump keeping track of the heads that have rolled since day one? This from the President who promised to bring the best minds in America into his administration? Pardon me for regurgitating this list of departures.

Will anyone of consequence want to sign up for the next two years? Sure, someone will sign up, but will they be anyone of consequence? Doubtful. It’s like rats fleeing a sinking ship.

Since the above list is clearly unprecedented in volume—especially considering it’s been just two years—I ask you Mr. & Ms. Trump supporter: How can the very best of presidential administrations survive this kid of turmoil?

Ask yourself this: How can you possibly vote for this turmoil again? This president is an unmitigated disaster for our country, the likes of which we’ve never seen. We only have ourselves to repair the damage he has done. I say, throw the bum out!  Where is Anonymous when you need him/her?

Personally, I am ashamed. I spent my entire adult life trying to uphold everything we Americans hold dear. I spent a year and a half in flight school, and when that didn’t work out, four years assigned to the fleet. Two cruises: to the Indian Ocean at the end of the Iranian Hostage Crisis, then to the Med to support our boys in Beruit. My brother helped in the aftermath. Then I joined the Intelligence Community, all bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, only to watch my analysis ignored in the run-up to Iraq in 2003. To say that I had a change of heart puts it mildly.

I have trouble understanding how my brothers in arms support this man. He could not care less about you. He could not care less about the 11 dead in a Pittsburgh Synagogue, the 13 dead in an LA bar, the pipe-bombs sent to a dozen critics, or all those innocent people killed at the Las Vegas concert, the Parkland H.S., the Orlando nightclub, etc. Not to mention how he’s trashed our relationship with our longstanding allies in NATO.

Sorry guys, I think he’s an impostor and douche at best, and a traitor at worst. It will be interesting to watch how this all plays out in the next two years. God forbid we have a real crisis erupt. As I’ve ended a previous post: Thank God “Mad Dog” Mattis is running the DoD.
