The World Has Shifted: We Are on the Verge of an American Century

By: - April 17, 2017

“Our economy is about to take off. Our military is again the fear of the world…America is respected once again, and our future is oh so bright.”

It is hard to overstate how much the geopolitical world has shifted over the last few months. If you remember back to before the new year, the Obama administration was in full control, busily spying on President-Elect Trump and his transition team. Russia, China, Iran, and North Korea—none of them respected the United States, nor our military. Our Marines were looking through museums for aircraft parts, and the Pentagon was focused on transgender issues instead of building and maintaining an effective fighting force.

My have things changed.

The most obvious recent example of this fact was the recent air strike on Syria. Russia had spent the last eight years enjoying the removal of American influence and power in the Middle East by the Obama administration. It was a former Soviet leader’s dream come true. A new axis was formed between Russia, Iran, Syria, and Shia Islam that stretched from Tartus to Tehran. American allies in the region were threatened. Israel had to fly to Moscow multiple times to meet with Putin as trust in its long-term ally, and the United States was compromised with the Iran “deal” and the general diabolical agenda against Christianity and freedom by our former Dear Leader.

The Kremlin had grown comfortable. Iran had become arrogant and complacent. Israel was scared. North Korea had gone nuclear, and China was taking over the South China Sea, claiming islands for their own that were smack dab in the middle of international shipping lanes.

With one fell swoop (or one barrage of 59 Tomahawks), Donald Trump changed all that.

The tables were turned on all of them.

Putin needs an enemy to take his public’s mind off their economic problems. The United States has been that boogieman for some time now. Trump changed that dynamic. He offered an olive branch to the Kremlin. He offered to consider the removal of sanctions, and to build a positive relationship with Moscow. So when chemical weapons were used by Assad against civilians, like Hitler and the gas chamber, Trump was in a unique position to act.

He did so with lightning speed, before Russia had a chance to move in more air defense systems or move aircraft around the Middle Eastern chess board. The Tomahawks flew within hours.

How can Putin make Trump the bad guy when he has been cheering Trump’s election for months? This is the brilliance of Donald Trump, preparing the geopolitical battlefield before the battle even takes place.

And there’s more.

I don’t think Kim Jong-un has been sleeping well after the airstrikes. The news that an American carrier battle group was headed toward North Korea probably made that insomnia even worse.

Iran must be worried its nuclear shell game gig is up. That’s why they’ve been spending all that money Obama sent them on Russian weapons—lots of them.

Chinese president Xi must have had a unique look on his face when Donald Trump told him over cheesecake that he had just flattened an airfield in Syria that, oh yeah, also had Russian advisors located there. Maybe he will think twice about sending more and more jets to those man-made islands in the South China Sea. It looks like he decided to make some trade concessions after all. Better to make a deal with unpredictable Donald Trump than to get in a knife fight with him.

In the United States, the reaction from the Obama lapdog media was even more humorous. The looks on Marxist anchors’ faces when the news broke was almost as good as election night when they found out Hillary lost. The airstrike completely blew a hole in their demigod Obama’s legacy. It showed how inept or complicit he really was.

Combined with the collapse of the Leftist “Russia narrative,” they fantasized about Trump being a spy for the Kremlin, and after the new, real scandal (with real evidence) of Susan Rice and everyone in the Obama government spying on the Trump transition team for political purposes, the corrupt media completely lost its sanity.

The new media news cycle, or spin cycle, goes something like this: “Trump’s a liar! Trump’s a Russian spy! TRUMP WAS RIGHT! Trump’s incompetent! Trump’s making stuff up! TRUMP WAS RIGHT!” It’s truly getting comical.

So we’ve gone from a point of complete denigration of the Trump agenda to a grudging respect from the media and his detractors. Even some of the leftist talking heads found themselves agreeing with Trump on the Syria issue. Many of them actually said Trump became president tonight. (I guess all it took was for him to bomb another country and he’s somehow president in their eyes, but that’s another column.)

And yes, the investigation of Susan Rice and her other Obama friends in high places is a big deal! We are just peeling away the top layers of the onion, and we can only guess at how deep (or how high) the spying rabbit hole goes.

The Democratic party will be hobbled by this scandal for decades to come. The news of the Syrian airstrike, Gorsuch’s confirmation, and congressional fights have overshadowed this illegal activity; however, that does not mean it has gone away. On the contrary—at a minimum, there will be lots of congressional hearings, and you can bet Jeff Sessions will make sure those who committed illegal activity will be held accountable.

Speaking of Sessions, it was announced recently that border crossings and illegal immigration have declined to a 17-year low. All it took was a focus on enforcement and the removal of the illegal immigrant magnet that Obama had held up for eight years. And the wall isn’t even built yet! Expect this trend to continue.

Sessions is now going after sanctuary cities. This will be a battle royal, but the outcome is all but certain. Illegal behavior will no longer be tolerated. If you want the law changed, there is a process for changing the law in Congress. But you have to win elections first.

That brings me to the Supreme Court and the appointment of Judge Gorsuch, now a done deal. This is a truly staggering accomplishment for the Trump administration. And they have done it by removing the filibuster as a possibility for future appointments. Trump has the ability to shape the court, and therefore the future of the United States, for decades, if not a century to come.

I could go on and on about how the world has shifted in just the last few months. It has been a tectonic shift, and Trump is only just getting started. As he persistently removes regulations that were imposed by King Obama—regulations that were hampering the economy and strangling economic growth like a wet blanket—expect the American gross domestic product to explode. When you combine this with tax reform, Katy bar the door. The US economy is the deepest, most resilient, and most eager to please in the world. Without these restrictions, we could see high single-digit economic growth. That will just overflow the federal coffers with money, even with the tax cuts. We will be able to pay off the national debt and protect our children’s economic future.

So yes, we are on the verge of an American century. Our economy is about to take off. Our military is again the fear of the world, which will ensure our security. As additional spending and growth hits our armed forces, this scenario will only improve. America is respected once again, and our future is oh so bright.

This gives me comfort that my children can live with the same opportunity and security that we grew up with. That is all I can ask for.
