French Authorities Shut Down Refugee Camp in Paris, Demonstrate Europe’s Failed Refugee Policy

By: - May 10, 2017

Refugee camps throughout Europe serve as prime examples of why President Trump has tightened the US immigration policy…

Around 1,600 migrants have been cleared out of a refugee camp located on the outskirts of Paris, with the majority of the refugees being from Africa and Afghanistan. The refugee crisis has caused a change of landscape in Paris, for with the influx of refugees has come increased terror attacks against the city. Of the 1,600 refugees being removed from the makeshift camp in Paris, only 75 have been determined to be vulnerable individuals—29 women and 22 unaccompanied minors.

These dirty camps present a very serious public health risk. Safety has also become a growing concern for those occupying the camps, as well as for the general public. Rivals between Afghan and Sudanese inhabitants of the camp have resulted in violent clashes and even casualties.

These types of camps aren’t normally regulated or policed, and resources have been strained due to recent French elections. Law enforcement officials have also had other more pressing priorities outside of the camp.

The most troubling thing about the camp is the fact that the majority of the refugees occupying them are grown men of fighting age. I often wonder where the women and children are; I refuse to believe that there is such a great number of men from these impoverished countries who have no wives or children to speak of.

A quick search online reveals many videos documenting brawls and the terrible living conditions of such camps, and it’s hard to believe these events are currently happening in Paris, one of the most renowned cities in the world. The behavior of the inhabitants in these camps reflects the type of shenanigans that President Donald Trump fights to keep out of the United States. These tent cities pose a threat to citizens and have become more than a danger.

Among the safety and health risks comes the very real threat of radicalization and recruiting by terrorist organizations. Given the fact that many of the refugees are seeking something better for themselves, many find membership in organizations such as ISIS appealing. Several of the refugees in Paris also hope to be smuggled into the United Kingdom.

The incredibly harrowing tales of refugees crossing oceans and facing rough conditions have struck a chord in even the most hardened individuals; however, people must bear in mind that while having compassion toward humanity is a beyond admirable quality, there is a terrifying world out there—one in which people will play on that very compassion and use it to their advantage if given the opportunity. The violence and hateful messages terrorists continue to spread worldwide must not be allowed to have a place within the United States.

What I find incredibly concerning about a lot of the male refugees is their unwillingness to become a productive member of society in places such as Paris. Rather than look for a job and attempt to thrive, many are desperate to make it further west – something we are ill prepared to handle and which presents very real threats to our homeland.

But the Butker critics who aren't… […]

People often ask, "How do you handle mean, vicious people when out in public?" The truth is I rarely encounter nastiness. It does happen, but thankfully, it is pretty rare. Joe Biden's claim, speaking recently to Democrat donors, that Donald Trump intends to be a democracy-demolishing dictator, if elected, is shameless. "He's saying it out loud," Biden seethed. No, Joe, he didn't. The accusation stems from Trump's playful response to a Sean Hannity question during a December town hall meeting in Iowa. To anyone watching… […]
