It is absolute lunacy. The extremists on the left simply can’t get over the fact they lost the election…one they lost by a landslide. It has now been over 18 months and they are still seething with anger. The latest angst during the confirmation of Mike Pompeo for secretary of state only proves it. In case you don’t know, the Democrats are stalling on just about every Trump nomination out there. Politifact.com (not really known for conservative views) admits that compared with recent presidents, Trump has the fewest nominees confirmed.
Trump also has the smallest percent of nominees confirmed by the Senate at this point in his presidency, relative to recent predecessors. Only 57 percent of Trump’s nominees have been confirmed, below that of Presidents Barack Obama (67 percent), George W. Bush (78 percent), Bill Clinton and George H.W. Bush (each with 81 percent).
In fact, Trump has seen fewer confirmations than recent presidents at any point. At an average rate of 81 days per confirmation, Trump would be out of office before all his nominees are confirmed. But this is how the Democrats work. They stall on everything, making it extremely difficult for Trump to do his job. And that’s the point.
Every government official, regardless of what side of the aisle they are on, whether appointed, elected, or through an application process, swear to defend and protect the Constitution of the United States of America. Yet, by all accounts, once they are in office, many of them break that oath. Just look at the recent news regarding Comey, McCabe, Strzok, Mueller and more that I wrote about in my last article.
They use their “socialist scholastic credentials” to try and compel their whims and un-American ideology on the rest of us. And when that doesn’t work, they will do it by “hook or by crook.” The very definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. And it would appear the left simply doesn’t understand that. So they continue to do what they have always done. And of course, when it doesn’t work, they resort to name-calling: Right-wingers, deplorables, racist, Nazis, haters, bigots, and the list goes on.
The fact is that most members of congress (yes, even some Republicans) are hell-bent on obstructing pro-American agendas while simultaneously forcing un-American agendas down our throats. Just look at Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell. Look at Jeff Flake and Lindsay Graham. If we, as Americans, regardless of party, continue to allow these strong-arm types to remain in office, we deserve what we get.
Case in point—the Pompeo confirmation. As you know, Democrats continue to refuse to confirm President Trump’s nominees for departments and other important federal offices. What you don’t know, because you have probably not been watching the proceedings, is just how far off the reservation the Democrats have gone.
Recently, Senator Robert Menendez, another starlet of the Democrat party, and the ranking Democrat on the committee (who should actually be sitting in prison) had the audacity to ask Secretary Pompeo: “Will you enable President Trump’s worst instincts?” and “Will you stand up to [Trump] and say, ‘No, you are wrong,’ or will you be a yes man?” Pompeo responded that he would “express his views forcefully but carry out the president’s policies once decisions were made.” Which is the correct answer because, Democrats, like it or not, Donald J. Trump is the President of the United States.
During the same hearing, Senator Cory Booker made a spectacle of himself and the process when he, as a member of his party in the Senate Committee for Foreign Affairs, grilled Mike Pompeo on the homosexual lifestyle. If you watch it, you realize this was not a dignified question-and-answer session, it was an interrogation.
I mean, seriously…poor Cory Booker. In his mind, the criteria to be qualified is whether a nominee thinks homosexual sex is a perversion or not. I mean, this is mind-boggling. You simply can’t make this stuff up. This is just a mere taste of how ridiculous these Democrats are, and the lengths to which they will stretch matters to console their agendas.
Case in point: During the congressional hearing on confirmation of Pompeo, Cory Booker would not get off the question:
Booker: “Is being gay a perversion?”
Pompeo: “Senator, when I was a politician, I had a very clear view on whether it was appropriate for two same-sex persons to marry. I stand by that.”
Booker: “So, you do not believe that it’s appropriate for two gay people to marry?”
Pompeo: “Senator, I continue to hold that view.”
It didn’t end there. Booker continued to press Pompeo on the same topic regarding homosexuality, his views on gay marriage and whether it is a perversion, to which Pompeo replied: “I’m going to give you the same answer I just gave you previously. My respect for every individual regardless of the sexual orientation is the same and will remain so if I’m confirmed.” All the while, I ask, how is this relevant?
Now mind you, this also happened during Pompeo’s confirmation hearing for CIA director in January 2017.
This all makes it abundantly clear that those on the left treat people based solely on whether a person holds the same leftist’s belief or not. The Pompeo confirmation clearly illustrates that.
Mr. Pompeo has his personal views on gay marriage. We all do. But that does not influence how he treats gays. He said he treats everyone with the same respect, as we all should. This is foreign to the left; they do not practice this level of decency on conservatives or those whose views oppose theirs.
So of course, given his answers, the left goes to their propaganda arm (main stream news media) and cries wolf. Case in point: Chad Griffin, president of the Human Rights Campaign, rushes to the Washington Post (avowed Trump haters) and says this: “There will be serious consequences for gay people around the world if Pompeo becomes America’s top diplomat.
“Mike Pompeo’s long-standing opposition to LGBTQ equality makes him a reckless choice to lead our nation’s diplomatic efforts. The decision to nominate anti-LGBTQ Mike Pompeo could have serious consequences for the United States and LGBTQ people around the globe. The State Department has a crucial role to play in advancing human rights—a role which was already rapidly declining under [Rex] Tillerson. This decision has the potential to make a dire situation even worse. Pompeo does not deserve to be confirmed.”
Seriously, you can’t make this stuff up. Are you kidding me? With the threats we face at home and abroad, this is the line of questions and conclusions you come to? President Trump is trying to manage the lunacy of the terrorists, gangs, dictators, rogue nation governments, threats, southern border invasion, US spying on American citizens, and the busting down of citizen’s doors in the middle of the night (very Orwellian), and we have to deal with Cory Booker’s unhinged interrogation of Mike Pompeo and the resulting fallout?
This is the kind of behavior we do not need from our elected representatives. If you just take the time to spend an hour a day watching the news (as painful as it may be), you can clearly see, for yourself, the desperation of the left. You can now plainly see the vast difference between a president who is working hard to “Make America Great Again,” and the left who is working relentlessly to stop him.
But why are they doing this? Simple. Just remember this quote from Norman Thomas, a former United States presidential candidate for the Socialist Party: “The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But, under the name of ‘Liberalism,’ they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.”
So, the left will continue their march towards socialism, unaware of the fact that America is seeing their true colors on full display. And they have the audacity to call others crazy.
