Anti-Gun Activists are Using Gun Phobia, the Education System and the Liberal Media to Slowly Take Away Second Amendment Rights

By: - May 8, 2017

“The concept that you can stop crime by increasing gun legislation is so off base that it is dangerous to the safety and security of each and every citizen of the United States.”

As I sit back and watch headline after headline tick across my screen, it’s disgusting to me to witness the assault being waged on our right to keep and bear arms. For the people who seem to have forgotten, those rights are guaranteed by a document that liberals like to side step from time to time called the Constitution of the United States.

When President Donald Trump won the honor of being the President of the United States, most of us in the 2A community thought that a new era of pro-gun legislation would stop the ridiculous backslide we had endured over the past eight years, however what we are currently seeing is far from that.

President Trump has only been in office 100 days and much of what he has to offer the firearms community is yet to come, but left wing anti-gun activists appear to be pulling out all the stops in what can only be seen as a desperate attempt by a minority political group to fan the dying flames of the Obama anti-gun legacy.

As I picked up my phone recently, an article popped up involving a young woman in Alabama who was expelled for one year for bringing a water pistol to school. Stories like this should be a wakeup call to all Americans that certain factions within our nation are still attempting to take the fight against anything firearm related to the extreme.

Under what condition would anyone find it necessary to expel someone from school and put such a mark on a young adult’s record for a water gun? It would be the same people that would try to justify this unprecedented action by describing the water gun as being an assault aqua expelling device with an extended water tank. This circumstance, if it was isolated, could be written off as one really bad call by a school administration, but sadly this case is one of many.

For example, let’s go a little further down the rabbit hole to a teen who was harassed at school for wearing a NRA shirt which stated, “Protect your Right.” The incident spiraled out of control and resulted in the teen being arrested. The incidents of students being arrested or suspended due to anti-gun sentiment in our schools is out of control.

This is from the same people who thought that a boy who made a “clock” device which was shaped and modeled after a bomb, should be invited to the White House and celebrated for the “injustice” done to him at school. Let us examine who should have received such an honor, Clock bomb boy, or a teen wearing a shirt that celebrated a right that was given to us to by the very creators of this country, I will let you be the judge on that one.

When looked at with a wider lens, it’s clear that this is a calculated attack on our 2A rights. You are teaching young adults, who will grow up to be the future leaders of our country, that being pro-gun will result in punishment or label you as an outsider.

If we leave the educational system and look at our media outlets, we see an obvious spin on any story coming from those alleged unbiased reports involving firearms or self-defense resulting in lethal force being used. News stations are using stock images of Ar-15’s to photo caption stories involving hunting rifles, or worse yet, to demonstrate pistols on their websites and social media feeds.

We see obvious racial and political motivations behind most current event stories, going so far as to use very loosely based facts to exaggerate stories or sensationalize cases of lawful self-defense or gun ownership. With these “fact finding” organizations policing themselves, we are going to continue to see an unchecked media that is solely focused on furthering the agenda of limiting your rights to bear arms.

Gun phobia has risen in our country due to recent terrorist events, and is another powerful tool that these groups are exploiting to help further their agendas. Recently in Orlando, anti-gun groups called upon families of victims in the Pulse Night Club shooting to testify that Ar-15s should not be allowed in the hands of everyday citizens.

What they fail to realize is their actions are only punishing lawful gun holders because last I checked, terrorists don’t care about US gun laws nor your high capacity magazine bans. The concept that you can stop crime by increasing gun legislation is so off base that it is dangerous to the safety and security of each and every citizen of the United States.

When we look at the average gun holder, the law abiding citizen who is simply utilizing the right to keep and bear arms which is afforded to everyone in our great nation, we see a person who continues to keep his family and loved ones safe. Sadly, what a lot of gun grabbers see is a violent man who doesn’t understand that the world they now live in is safe and free of danger.

The same people that think the world is civilized and doesn’t need guns are the same people that use statistics of gun violence to argue their point that the world is violent and we need to eliminate guns to lower the violence. How does one not see the hypocrisy in that argument? That answer is simple, they are not looking at the argument, because as elected officials they will have teams of armed men and women protecting them.

Problem solved, we are protected, and you the law-abiding citizen don’t need them. Take a look at California, where elected officials voted to make themselves exempt from gun laws, as if they are saying, “well that’s nice, listen here citizens of California, you all need to follow these insane gun laws that we believe in, now we don’t, but you do. Thanks for voting.”

It is time for the good people of this nation to rise up and be heard, because powerful forces are working hard to drown us out and unless we protect the rights that we were given, we will find ourselves telling the next generation what an armed America once looked like. Remember that our second amendment rights, “Shall not be infringed”.
