AOC and Her Chief of Staff Dropped from Leadership of PAC

By: - March 20, 2019

This is so much fun to write about it is almost sinful—almost.

It seems like Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s (D-NY) chief of staff is playing free and loose with the rules as they apply to campaign finance. I personally know a lot about this as I ran for public office and had to vehemently comply with the rules as it pertained to the campaign and the money we got from the public.

Rep. Ocasio-Cortez’s chief of staff, Saikat Chakrabarti, is accused of playing fast and free with the funds AOC used to help get herself elected. AOC has already shown a penchant for being a hypocritical candidate, exemplified by telling her constituents to knuckle down while she spends their money on airfare and rideshare drivers when only a block or two away from the public transport she so much sees as the savior to fossil fuels.

This is the mark of an amateur. She sees the power she has. That almost immediate recognition of power has gone to her head. With her statement that she is “ The Boss” of the Democratic Party, she is delusional.

So what is this about? Simply it is about greed and corruption. I would make an analogy to all socialist parties. Those at the top are not socialist but strictly involved with the betterment of their own oligarch status. AOC is displaying this in spades. She is uninformed but still able to gather enough support that the Democratic Party (not her party, as she is a socialist/communist) fall in line to try to gather enough of the new millennial votes to remain relevant.

This latest tidbit of news about the bartender/economics cum laude graduate is just another example of either complete naivete or a sense of entitlement. She and her staff flaunt the rules as they tell all of us how they are going to change our lives (by force) for the better.

This time the controversy surrounds Ocasio-Cortez and Saikat Chakrabarti in leadership roles in the PAC Justice Democrats.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Chakrabarti took control of Justice Democrats in December 2017.  They were removed from those positions in June 2018.  Even with that happening, she was kept as a “Governor” of the organization until March 15, 2019. Of course, these quiet removals were only after the ethics questions came to light. I would guess they are hoping by removing themselves they can claim that they were misinformed of their responsibility and have since corrected. Yeah, right!

Maybe they should have heeded Caesar’s warning “Beware the Ides of March.”

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Chakrabarti kept their role with the PAC under wraps. They never disclosed to the Federal Election Commission that they “controlled the PAC while it was simultaneously supporting her primary campaign.”

According to the National Legal and Policy Center (NLPC), Chakrabarti’s entity, the Brand New Congress LLC, served as a way to hide the funds collected. They hid at least $885,735 from the AOC campaign and two federal political action committees. What this means is the AOC campaign is taking a turn feeding at the political trough and using the people’s funds for her own gains. It is the height of hypocrisy.

AOC needs to actually study the programs and policies she is putting forth. With a valid examination, she just might see her plans will destroy our nation. But to see this, she must have the thinking of an adult; something that is seemingly lacking. The bartender-turned-congresswomen is not qualified to make these types of decisions.

I think it takes experience, knowledge, and a real understanding of how the world works. AOC’s promising neophyte pie-in-the-sky policies have disaster written all over them. Unfortunately, she and her followers are simply too blind to see reality and the apparent demise-dripping history.

AOC needs to be at least schooled by her Democrat comrades before she takes the party to an abyss from which it will never recover. From her party she could also get advice on how to handle ethics problems; they seem to have quite a bit of experience in that regard.
