If you’re a leftist political organization you know you have a bit of a wingnut problem when those hardnose right-wing zealots Bernie Sanders and Barack Obama tell you to cool your jets on immigration. Well, they have asked the Dems to do exactly that.
But in a party where Jiang Qing would be considered a pragmatic moderate, their voices will waft into the ether. The new fashion? Open borders, doing away with ICE, and hatred of any person or idea more than six months old. Cory Booker, not to be outdone in the loon department, has advanced a call for black reparations over slavery. Funny, I think 300,000 Union war dead is payment enough.
Silly me.
As the open borders proposal is wacky death wish politics, the reparations issue is even more stroll into a ravine stuff. Once you start that ball rolling, who gets on the gravy train? Let’s see.
Many of the Irish weren’t treated too well here at first, so they get a cut. Latins? Si senor. Indentured servants? Step right up. And that’s only a partial list for the U.S. Globally? The Belgians owe the Congo, the Brahmins owe the Untouchables (including either Robert Stack or Kevin Costner, take your pick), and everybody owes the Jews.

Bernie and Barry will continue to huff and puff. However, their labored political breathing will go unheard, as AOC and her clique have the momentum and the backing of the pop culture, which is everything to the Dems.
It’s good fun to watch this duo now decry the logical extension of the petty and grasping socialist identitarian grievance politics they both have promoted and benefited from for quite some time. If I was a nicer guy I’d feel some compassion for them, seeing their own machine turn on them like that.
But I’m not. Instead, I think I’m just gonna savor it.
