Bush and Allies Attack Trump

Have you noticed something recently?

The man the left and their media pals called a war criminal, a killer of innocent women and children in Iraq and Afghanistan, a far-right (Ha!) extremist, is now their flavor of the month because compared to President Trump, to them he is a good Republican.

Of course, to them, that means a Republican they can use for their own devices. Yes, wonder of wonders (to some people), George W. Bush is now acceptable to the left.

A recent indicator of this was Bush administration member and now, of course, ABC news hack Matthew Dowd, who this week defended the use of the term “Deplorables” by Hillary Clinton, saying, “With events over the last few years, and conduct and behavior we have seen, can someone explain to me how Hillary was wrong.”

Sure, Matthew, let me fill you in.

I know you’re ticked off that Jeb didn’t win and thus you and your ilk didn’t get your White House perks back. It brought you so low you had to sell out whatever iota of integrity you had left and peddle your soiled wares to the leftist media who had just recently damned the entire administration you had worked for. So you figure the only way to go now is to bend over even further to try and weasel your way back into some form of national relevance.

But guess what?

Hillary was wrong, playing by DC rules, because she lost. Hillary was wrong because it showcased her authoritarian socialist thought patterns by consigning those who merely disagreed with her into a seemingly irredeemable abyss of electoral radioactivity and thus drove many of them, to your undoubted chagrin, into the Trump camp. And Hillary was wrong, well, just because she was and is Hillary and hasn’t been correct on anything political since she was a Goldwater Girl.

Though we must cut Dowd a bit of a break. He was only following orders. Jeb’s loss, the Bush family ensuring people knew that matriarch Barbara and wife Laura were voting against Trump, the defeat of their pal Hillary, and Dubya’s reaction to the inauguration speech (“That’s some weird sh**”) started the contention. The former president’s witless clan feud filtered down as reveille to drones like Dowd.

George W. Bush’s conspicuous cozying up to the Obamas hasn’t gone without notice either. By the way, expect a speech by one of the Bushes next year, endorsing the Dem nominee.

What the poor clueless Dubya, though by all descriptions a good man personally, and his factotums like Dowd don’t yet get is that their very attitudes of entitlement and pseudo-elitism are the very reasons Donald Trump was elected and the GOP turned away from the low-energy domestic mush of the Bush family to an actual conservative leader like the president.

Like old Japanese soldiers who were found on South Pacific islands in the 1950s, still holding out because they didn’t realize they had lost the war years ago, Bush and the rest of the Vichy Republicans will stay smug in their powerless impotence while the president sets the agenda and the Dems use them like cheap hookers.

How’s that for editorial “conduct and behavior,” huh Dowd?
