By Any Means, Fair and Unfair

By: - July 1, 2019

Lou Gossett Jr.’s character in the movie “An Officer and a Gentleman” has a memorable line. Speaking to his officer candidate recruit class upon starting their training, Gossett tells them, “I will use every means—fair and unfair—to trip you up…”

This quote came to mind when I thought about what the Democrats are willing to do in their rabid quest for political power. It’s already well established they ignore laws they don’t like (sanctuary city, county, state). They refuse to use the political system they are a part of to change the system appropriately, choosing instead, along with their mainstream media allies, to deploy emotional coercion, conflation, obfuscation, rationalization, and subterfuge to cajole the public into their electoral fold—by any means, fair and unfair.

I recently wrote about one of their unfair means: providing driver’s licenses to illegal immigrants with the ultimate goal of allowing them to voteDemocrat. Access to the same driver’s licenses issued to American citizens and legal immigrants, at the very least, confuses voting systems, and at most, corrupts it. Add to that the muddle of the Democrats’ desire eventually to expand the Motor Voter Act (1993) to include illegal aliens, and the state and local election apparatus are even riper for corruption than they are already.

As it is, motor voter registration efforts must separate non-naturalized legal immigrants (who cannot legally vote) from American citizens, both native born and naturalized. When you add illegal aliens to the mix, you muddy the voter pool even more.

About this compromised system, Government Accountability Institute (GAI) Director of Research Eric Eggers told Breitbart News, “We’re now trusting illegal aliens’ honor not to register to vote.” In other words, we’re choosing to trust people who’ve “cut the line,” entered the U.S. illegally, ahead of other potential immigrants patiently awaiting their turns to immigrate legally.

It’s also not the greatest thing for the illegal aliens who do cast illegal votes in American elections. Ostensibly, it’s still against the law for non-citizen legal immigrants and illegal immigrants to vote in the United States. However, there are leftist individuals and organizations that encourage legal and illegal aliens to vote. In their zeal to get more Democrat votes, these activists show little concern for their constituents’ well-being and futures.

According to John Binder of Breitbart.com, “[T]he state’s Democrat officials exploit illegal aliens by coercing them to register to vote without them truly understanding that it is illegal.”

Eggers also said, “My research shows that illegals get caught up in this by parties that exploit and victimize illegal aliens.

“Florida immigration attorney Liz Ricci told Breitbart News that she has had clients get caught up in the easily accessible voting registration system and suffered the consequences in return.”

Ricci added, “I’ve had other clients who were denied naturalization because of this.”

Denied naturalization. Funny how we never hear Democrats talk about that consequence. By any means, fair and unfair…

    • University 'occupations': What they mean to you
The “occupying thing," as one young, nice, “woke" professor – a genuine expert in her field – called it, is happening on her campus, though they had rather wished that it wouldn't. The tents and the noise and the crowds interfere with the normal business of the university – learning and advancing knowledge. In many… […]
    • The steady slide towards tyranny: How freedom dies from A to Z
The American governmental scheme is sliding ever closer towards a pervasive authoritarianism. The American people, the permanent underclass in America, have allowed themselves to be so distracted and divided that they have failed to notice the building blocks of tyranny being laid down right under their noses by the architects of the Deep State. This… […]
    • Hail, Columbia?
Many of the anti-Israel protesters at Columbia and other college campuses are dwelling in cushy tents on the quad. These tents look pretty modern and uniform; one could only wonder who is paying for all this? In 1754, an advertisement for Columbia (then known as King's College), promised, "The chief thing that is aimed at… […]
    • Making race the measure of all things
Did you ever think you would see the day when Jewish students on elite college campuses were afraid to attend classes? Pro-Hamas mobs have taken over. They have built tent cities and made it clear that Jews and anyone supporting Israel is an enemy. At Columbia University, Israel-born Shai Davidai, an assistant professor at the… […]
    • No, demonstrations today are not like the 1960s
The current demonstrations on college campuses against Israel remind some of the unrest on college campuses during the 1960s. But the comparison is not a good one. The unrest of the 1960s was defined by the war in Vietnam and by the Civil Rights Movement. Both had practical, personal impact on young Americans in their… […]
    • Amazing story: Reagan gifted Israel 'Iron Dome' that Biden blocked
Watch Larry's most recent "Week in Review" video. Iran, the world's leading terrorist nation (which previously held Americans hostage for 444 days until Reagan secured their release), recently rained down 120 ballistic missiles, 170 drones and 30 cruise missiles on Israel. It was an unprecedented direct attack following their previous Hamas proxy attack on Oct.… […]
    • Trump-haters hit a brick wall at SCOTUS
Trump-hating prosecutors' joy ride hit a brick wall in the Supreme Court last Thursday, where six Justices doubted and ridiculed liberals' attempts to prosecute Trump in federal court. This was so thoroughly a rout of Biden's minions that it also diminishes the impact of the ongoing New York County prosecution of Trump. Delusional Biden supporters… […]
