Confederate Statues, Animal Cruelty Somehow a Bigger Problem Than Sexual Assault and Infanticide

It was only a short time ago that Virginia was on fire. All three leading members of the executive branch were mired in scandal. Governor Ralph Northam was under fire for a yearbook picture that featured him (or somebody on his page) dressed in blackface or Klansmen. Lieutenant Governor Justin Fairfax still faces credible claims of sexual assault from multiple accusers. And Attorney General Mark Herring also admitted to using blackface.

Of the claims, only the sexual assault is truly serious. Blackface is offensive to many people, but something from 30 years ago is due an apology, not a resignation. But the rabid left tries to eat so many (such as Tucker Carlson most recently) that I was content to let them eat their own. In this case, I was particularly incensed that a case of black-face from 30 years ago seemed more egregious to the left than very clear words of the governor that supported infanticide.

But, a couple months later and we’ve moved on to other controversies of the day…like inappropriate hugging. This includes, apparently, the monumental offense of Confederate statues and animal cruelty. Animal cruelty is pretty awful, but I’m still shocked and stunned that both items seem to take precedence over killing babies.

Meanwhile, the MeToo movement hasn’t really touched the lieutenant governor accused of sexual assault, and the infanticide-promoting governor remains in office as he apparently moon-walked his way out of the controversy. The complaints about statues and focus on animal cruelty shows the warped priorities and myopic sense of justice of liberals where people don’t know who is depicted by the statue, readily accept a reassignment of its meaning by agitators, and then ignore serious moral questions in their current leaders.
