News comes that the 346th Democrat is entering the race for the top slot. This time it is NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio. A more suitable contender against the president the Dems would be hard pressed to come up with, as he is their entire package rolled into one.
He’s a disaster in office. He is a Marxist with a scarier more Marxist wife—a trend amongst the Dems. He flits bungle to bungle with nary a backwards look, always using a PC rationale to explain his wackier programs and most comical policy proposals. He’s a big fan of international socialism, being both a Trot and Tankie at the same time. And of course, he runs perhaps the most leftist big city in this country, a city once the wonder of the world, a laboratory of genuine culture, commerce, and intellect, being reduced again by de Blasio and his minions to the rotting crime-ridden impoverished corpse it once was in the 1970s.
All of which makes him the man for the job.
Just sour grapes from those not lucky enough to hail from there? Not quite, as this Staten Island lad can attest to.
What makes de Blasio the Cats pajamas? Because of his myriad failures he must keep taxing and spending ever more to fund his overwrought ventures. That of course expands the power, influence, and ranks of the public sector, which is the sole reason (okay, that and the complete ruination of the United States of America) for the existence of the modern Democratic Party.
What will Dem contenders say to compete with this? If they propose an insane scheme, he’s already funding it. If they natter on how they hate whitey (this will predominantly come from people with light-pink skin) de Blasio can point to years of race hatred of his own and the municipal chops to enact it. If the gals meow and hiss about the patriarchy, he can proudly showcase his status as a male ideologically emasculated by his wife. Hate capitalism? He’s aggressively making New York City poorer by driving out jobs and industries through high taxes.
They just talk crazy. He governs like it.
So pray to your own house gods for de Blasio to make it to the debates and beyond. It will set up a Subway Series of politics. The Marxist challenges the mensch. The Upper West Side versus Queens. Two New Yorkers battling for the soul of most Americans, who loathe the very city.
What’s there not to love?
