Emily Nunez, Navy and Marine Corps Veteran, Launches Bid for Florida’s 11th House District

By: - January 4, 2022

The Jacksonville native announced on Tuesday in a statement that:

The Great President Ronald Reagan said it best when he stated that our country will be weakened from within spiritually, morally, and economically. It is time for real fighters to step up and answer the call.

Time after time, we the people watch as Democrats slowly encroach on our constitutional freedoms such as our Second Amendment. Here in the state of Florida, with a Republican controlled House and Senate, Gun Rights bills get killed in Committees by RINOs while Gun Control bills get passed into law. It is time for those with the moral courage to stand up and fight for what is right.

I am tired of the career politicians and insiders in Tallahassee who continually band together for personal gain. It’s time your wants and needs are properly represented. It’s time to drain the Tallahassee swamp. I have filed to be your next State Representative and to protect the rights of the people and oppose the unconstitutional mandates our government put into effect before.

Emily Nunez is a Jacksonville native and graduate of Nathan Bedford Forrest High School. She enlisted into the Navy upon graduation and served her first tour of duty in Atsugi, Japan with Fighter Attack Squadron VFA-192, deploying on the USS Kitty Hawk. She was then selected to join the prestigious Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron- Blue Angels in Pensacola, Florida.  After serving for 6 years as an enlisted sailor, she was selected for the Seaman to Admiral (STA-21) officer commissioning program.

She became a communications officer with the United States Marine Corps achieving the rank of Lieutenant before returning back home to Jacksonville. She has an undergraduate degree from Auburn University in Business Administration and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the University of Florida.

Emily Nunez joins Heath Brockwell, and Bo Wade Hodges in challenging the incumbent Cord Byrd.
