5. Training
Most pets that are adopted from shelters are already potty trained. Dogs from shelters also know basic commands such as sit, stay or come. Adopting a pet that is already house trained saves so much time as well as a less stressful introduction period. These animals are also well socialized from being around workers, visitors and other animals staying in the shelter.
