Hickenlooper Out of His Own Loop

Pity poor former governor of Colorado and Dem presidential candidate John Hickenlooper. Somebody forgot to send him the memo.

Hickenlooper was at a CNN town hall in Atlanta on Wednesday when a member of the audience asked if he would choose a female running mate. As a Dem, he put gender over possible qualification and said yes. Then, he stepped in it.

He parried by asking the audience member, “But how come we’re not asking more often the women, ‘Would you be willing to put a man on the ticket?’” The audience of Dem sexists, not wanting to even consider that some toxic male would have an automatic place on the ticket, as apparently any woman would, sneered their disapproval at his comeback.

One of his flacks tried to spin out of it by insinuating that Hickenlooper meant that a woman could choose a man as a running mate because she would naturally be at the top of the ticket. Which then brings up the question, then why is Hickenlooper, a male, running for the top of the ticket?

The past governor made the grave error of introducing fairness in a meeting of members of a party, including CNN, who want no such thing. To their acolytes, female and semi-male alike, traditional males are a toxicity to be politically destroyed. Lest their patriarchy continue to generally bring us things like, well, technology, public safety, medicine, science, running water, etc. You know, meaningless things like that.

Because you can’t have an all-powerful oppressive patriarchy who’s not in charge. Or how else could they oppress? But if they’re in charge, then they get credit for all the stuff being in charge means you’re responsible for. Including, the good stuff as mentioned above.

It’s a “What Have the Romans Done For Us?” moment lost on the mirthless left.

However, that logic, and the silliness of the concept of the patriarchy itself, escapes CNN and the Atlanta sexists. Hickenlooper learned that to his chagrin.

Next time, he’ll know to tuck his tail between his legs and be a good boy.
