Mainstream Media Continues to Give President Trump ‘Fake News’ Ammunition

By: - June 26, 2018

We regret to inform you that the leftists are at it again. It has now been zero days since the mainstream media has embarrassed the United States by pushing a false narrative as news. Getty Images recently shared a picture of a two-year-old Honduran girl crying while a Border Patrol agent searched her mother, who was caught entering the United States illegally. The media then distributed the picture wildly, making the girl named Yanela a poster child for the child separation crisis and debate.

Time Magazine even shared a photoshopped version of the picture on their “Welcome to America” cover to demonize President Trump, whom they blame for the entire situation. It didn’t take long for the truth to come out: this young girl had not been separated from her mother at any point. The mainstream media can’t help themselves. They’re hopelessly addicted to sharing “fake news.”

“You can imagine how I felt when I saw that photo of my daughter. It broke my heart. It’s difficult as a father to see that, but I know now that they are not in danger. They are safer now than when they were making that journey to the border,” said Denis Javier Varela Hernandez, Yanela’s father.

The now iconic photo was taken around midnight on June 12, near McAllen, Texas. A group of people were intercepted trying to enter America illegally via a raft on the Rio Grande. According to the photographer who took the picture, the little girl started crying when her mother set her down so that a Border Patrol agent could pat her down for both his and her security. According to the agent who conducted the pat-down, the young girl was never separated from her mother. The photographer agreed that all agents involved that night acted professionally.

However, the majority of outlets reporting on the “story” simply didn’t care about the truth. To even question the narrative they were pushing was enough to be called racist and a Nazi. Unfortunately for those desperate to push a story fabricated in order to accomplish their own desires, the father of the girl has spoken out. His wife, a woman who has been busted before for committing the same crime of illegal entry, took their child across the border against his wishes. “I didn’t support it. I asked her, why? Why would she want to put our little girl through that?” he told reporters. He also confirmed that at no point had the mother and child been separated and that they were “doing fine” in a family detention center.

As Dr. Pradheep J. Shanker said in a series of tweets, “Does this matter? I mean, nobody cares about the context of the story, right? Only the imagery matters, the emotional impact. Not the actual facts. Time Magazine put her on the cover. Did they bother to, you know, actually investigate the story? Journalism is really, really in bad shape right now. We no longer have many journalists. What we have is activist bloggers. This doesn’t change the general awfulness of the Trump policy, but facts should matter.”

As to the signs held by and the slogans chanted by the "pro-Palestinian" protesters, switch out the words "Jew" or "Jewish" and insert the word "black."
