Rampant political correctness has been tearing the country apart for years now. In its beginnings, it was presented as a measure of protection for “vulnerable” groups in society. No more “insensitive” comments or you’ll be judged in the court of public opinion. Over the years, judged turned to fired and fired turned to attacked.
Today, political correctness is literally about defending violent communists in Charlottesville. As President Trump found out this week, refusing to praise Antifa for attacking Nazis makes you as bald as the inbred skinheads they were battling with.
The first time I ever really experienced political correctness aggressively used against me was during my freshman year at South River High School in New Jersey. I did a project on the murder of Philadelphia Police Officer Daniel Faulkner at the hands of Mummia Abu Jamal because it bothered me that so many celebrities had jumped on the bandwagon to support the cop-killer’s appeal attempts. I researched the issue thoroughly and determined the evidence against the accused was more than solid. The man was guilty.
The Cherry Garcia flavor from Ben and Jerry’s stopped tasting so good and I remember feeling a bit outraged that the singer, Sting, had the nerve to name his band The Police when I found out how vocally supportive both parties were of a man who executed a cop during a traffic stop in the City of Brotherly Love.
I presented my research on how the murder went down over shouting accusations of racism by a classmate even though the skin colors of the two men didn’t mean a lick to me. I wondered how I could be called a racist for wanting to see justice prevail in the homicide of a police officer – it was the first time that I can recall anyone heckling me with that ugly R word.
When I got to college, I did what most kids do. I kind of checked out for the first two or three years. I ate up all the PC talking points in my sociology and criminal justice courses to get A’s and I didn’t question the propaganda being passed off as clear objective fact for fear being ridiculed and ganged up on.
My Race Relations professor made us watch Spike Lee’s Do The Right Thing to illustrate oppression of minorities – so I did what everyone else did. I pretended it was perfectly normal to praise a community for burning down an Italian-American owned pizzeria that employed many African Americans living there. The film’s message was that the owner was an evil bastard for hanging pictures of great and famous Italian-Americans – rather than African Americans – on the “wall of fame” in his own business. Throw in a little cliché police brutality on a guy with a boombox and burn, baby, burn. The moral of the story? All these years later, I still can’t find one – but folks in Ferguson, MO learned a thing or two.
In Sociology 101, we spent quite a bit of time on Marx’s Communist Manifesto. The ideas of equality and universal sharing of everything sounded great in theory, but the idea that the Proletariat could overthrow the Bourgeoise and accomplish a Utopian society seemed impossible to me. Every time we’ve seen communism put into practice, the dictator at the helm is worse than the capitalist Bourgeoise Marx describes.
Not only does the communist regime control the vast majority of wealth and means of production of the nation, it also violently stamps out any opposition from within the state because communism cannot allow a single seed of individualism to blossom and corrupt the entire system. The death toll at the hands of communist regimes in the 20th century stands at just under one hundred million for a reason. It is a cancer.
I went on taking classes towards my major and biting my tongue in the face of constant Anti-American curriculum. I kept my mouth shut at the risk of being called bigoted for valuing history and not wanting to see Marxism embraced in the US.
It seemed as if “white privilege,” “systemic racism,” or “American Imperialism” were the answer for everything. I guess I just got tired of being told that my white straight male privilege was something I had to forever feel guilty about – something I had to be ashamed of and wear like a scarlet letter on my forehead. When my eyes became open to other straight white males within the media and political class seeing such success by preaching this dogma, the alarm bells in my head really started going off. This was about power.
So, during my senior year in 2009, I stopped shutting up. I decided to hold myself, along with everyone else who had remained quiet over the past 50 years as political correctness became a trojan horse for communist ideas and values to flourish, responsible – as Saul Alinski’s Rules for Radicals worked wonders in creating chaos within the systems that make our society run smoothly.
After being one of the few to challenge the indoctrination we were receiving in one course during my final semester, I did my final presentation on US Customs and Border Patrol. Because I was going through the hiring process at the time, I handed out a recruiting handbook to the class so they could look at an authentic document from the agency. The professor scoffed and other students gasped as if I had just pledged allegiance to some hate group in front of their very eyes. The class syllabus might as well have read that anything having to do with protecting the nation’s borders was immoral and disgusting after all.
Following the class, a black student and a Hispanic student both asked me how far along I was in the hiring process to be a border patrol agent as we walked back to our cars. As it so happened, they were both going through the hiring process with CBP as well – but they didn’t dare speak up about that in front of the rest of the class.
Imagine that – a white guy, a black guy, and a Hispanic guy all feeling pressured to keep the fact that they were applying to a federal law enforcement agency a secret. Self-censorship to that degree is not a benefit of political correctness. It’s an example of how effective the PC weapon was back in 2009 – three different races of people being driven underground on a college campus for wanting to serve their country. Sadly, it’s done nothing but get much, much worse on college campuses since then.
Here’s where we stand today. If Donald Trump were to jump into a lake to rescue a bunch of kids and save 29 of them but miss one, most of the mainstream media would be reporting on how a callous man let a kid die. The indignation has reached new levels with the blistering attacks on the President following his response to the insanity in Charlottesville by outlets like CNN, NBC, and even Fox News – but can you guess who else isn’t choosing sides in the conflict? The black Charlottesville Police Chief, who knows first-hand that both sides were chock-full of violent imbeciles in need of condemnation. Any one care to label him a Nazi for calling the two sides “mutually combative”?
Throughout the first year of Trump’s presidency, we have seen fireworks at virtually every press conference he has given – and this one was no different. His refusal to play by the PC rules of our generation made him public enemy #1 from the moment he rode down that escalator in Trump Tower to announce his campaign bid almost two years ago.
He is a direct foil for everything the main stream media and elite power players stand for – everything the anti-American indoctrinaires at my college preached. When they try to capitalize on the divisions they’re able to create through illusions of widespread racism, classism, genderism, sexism, and the rest of the competing teams in the Oppression Olympics, Trump pushes back. It is no surprise that the media and Washington Establishment are still at odds with him despite a low unemployment rate, high stock values, and a sustained real estate surge.
Here’s where we stand today. If Donald Trump were to jump into a lake to rescue a bunch of kids and save 29 of them but miss one, most of the mainstream media would be reporting on how a callous man let a kid die.
There were two sides engaging in violence in Charlottesville. They were the Nazis and the Communists. If you only just heard of Antifa this past week and you’re losing your mind over KKK skinheads while posting memes about how the “Alt-Left” fought the Nazis in WWII – you’re embarrassing yourself around people that actually pay attention. They’re not Anti-fascists. It’s an oxymoron. They are textbook fascists who proudly burn American flags while shutting down free speech with violent assembly. You’ve really got some homework to do. A lot is on the line here.
The President didn’t choose sides because there is no good side to choose. I’m not going to defend a group that wishes death on police officers, wants American democracy to fall, and espouses hatred for white people simply because they’re fighting a group who hates Jews and blacks. I don’t believe in that “the enemy of my enemy is my friend” nonsense.
If I must choose between Communism and Nazism, then it’s time to fight back at least with words because both sides certainly are growing. Why? The Alt-Right can claim victim now because they were kept from legally protesting. The Alt-Left is empowered because their violence was deemed acceptable by the PC narrative. They’re now destroying monuments of Abe Lincoln and raising the Antifa Flag on state buildings.
In regards to both extreme ideologies, I’ll quote the 45th President of the United States. “We condemn in the strongest possible terms this egregious display of hatred, bigotry, and violence. It has no place in America.”
If you ask me, Donald Trump’s response was his shining moment.
