Media Loses It Over President Trump Calling Gang Members Animals

By: - May 22, 2018

I’ll be the first to admit that I’ve shaken my head a few times following some of President Trump’s statements and tweets.  I’m sure even his most loyal of fans have also cringed once or twice at the brashness our president often exhibits. So when I saw the latest rumbling, I had to see for myself what all the fuss was about.  Apparently mainstream media and social justice warriors are upset over a comment President Trump made referring to MS-13 as animals. Naturally, a crazy narrative was written about the context of these words.  Actually listening to context is a skill many people are lacking.

While it probably isn’t in the best interest to use this language for the sake of diplomacy, it’s important to look at context.  President Trump made the comment referring to MS-13 gang members, who are known for the brutality of their crimes. The “Mara Salvatruchas” were originally immigrants from El Salvador who organized in Los Angeles.  Their roots are traced back to the 1970s, but the group has since evolved into a criminal gang. Among their most brutal crimes are rape and beheading. MS-13 is known for stabbing victims to death in barbaric ways and over absolutely nothing.

For a president who tells it like it is, I don’t believe it’s out of left field for President Trump to refer to MS-13 as animals.  That’s exactly what they are. So for mainstream media to throw a tantrum and take the president’s words out of context is absolutely ridiculous.  He was responding directly to a conversation about MS-13 criminals. Social justice warriors literally stand at the ready to be outraged about something.  It’s been out of hand, but sometimes it’s completely laughable.

Throwing a tantrum over something like this shows how far-left media jumps straight to playing the victim card.  It makes it that much harder for actual injustice to be addressed seriously. Sometimes I wonder why certain incidents are overlooked, and then it dawns on me.  The mainstream media likes to blow trivial things out of proportion that have no significance. Then the fake social media outrage begins.

It’s almost predictable how everything will happen following statements from President Trump.  Of course the actual problems that lie beneath fall by the wayside in favor of dragging the president some more.  It’s more interesting to continue the victim mentality than it is to address concerns everyone has.

In any case, there are far worse things that should be considered.  Such as actual criminals that pour into the United States. That’s something that the media seems to completely ignore.  No one ever really addresses the crime statistics of undocumented immigrants because they’re “insignificant” compared to crimes committed by citizens.

Simply brushing off criminal activity isn’t a solution to the immigration problem. Pretending that undocumented immigrants aren’t committing crimes isn’t a solution.  It’s a serious issue that needs to be addressed.  It gets tiresome to hear so-called experts talk about crime like it’s something that should be tolerated for the sake of immigration.
