Opinion: Should Kellogg’s Be Boycotted?

By Rene Sotolongo:

In an almost unbelievable move that defies comprehension, Kellogg’s gave almost $1 million to the Black Lives Matter movement with the specific intent to target Trump, the police, and even everyday Americans.

If you have ever wondered where Black Lives Matters gets their money, you don’t really have to wonder anymore.

In a scathing report, Breitbart News exposed how the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, one of the largest philanthropic foundations in the United States, gave over $930,000 to the International Development Exchange (IDEX). This normally would not be all that surprising, except for one small detail. The IDEX is contracted by the Black Lives Matter movement to process their donations.

According to the Associated Press, the International Development Exchange “has been acting as a mostly unseen financial arm of Black Lives Matter, with the ability to receive grants and tax-deductible donations on the group’s behalf…. The relationship evolved into a contractual partnership that will run through at least mid-2017.”

In abject retaliation, Kellogg’s pulled all of their advertising from Breitbart.

According to the foundation’s website, the purpose of the $900,000 grant was to:

Enhance local and place-specific interventions to address issues impacting the lives of Black community members, families and children by building the infrastructure and capacity of the national #BlackLivesMatter to support and strengthen their local chapters’ organizing capacity.

Let me translate:

Enhance local and place-specific interventions—meaning we are financing protests and riots. The fact of the matter is that Black Lives Matter protests have produced one spectacle after another. Peaceful “protests” in Baltimore and Ferguson descended into riots of epic proportions.

And it is no secret that these “rioters” were being paid to do so. In a report in The Washington Times  (Jessica Chasmar – The Washington Times – Tuesday, May 19, 2015)

Hired protesters with the Black Lives Matter movement have started a #CutTheCheck hashtag and held a sit-in at the offices for the successor group to the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) in Missouri after the group allegedly stopped paying them.

FrontPage Magazine reports that Missourians Organizing for Reform and Empowerment (MORE) has been paying protesters $5,000 a month to demonstrate in Ferguson. Last week, hired protesters who haven’t been paid held a sit-in at MORE’s offices and posted a demand letter online.

Now you know where those $5,000-a-month paychecks were partially coming from. The rest of it? According to a leaked memo, over $650,000 was given by George Soros.

According to several sources, including Red State, Breitbart, Glen Beck, and Fox News, this is the same George Soros who funded “revolutions” in both Poland and Serbia—the same George Soros who has funded opposition parties in a variety of former Soviet republics and has caused more friction between the US and Russia than any other person in history. In fact, his influence was so powerful that Belarus, Russia, Turkmenistan, and Kazakhstan have had to ban his “philanthropic” organizations.

Here in the United States, his Open Society Foundation has a stated goal of expanding the electorate by 10 million voters—enough to swing any election. The proposed method of doing this is mainly by lowering barriers to registration, increased ballot access initiatives, and a weakening of voter ID laws. One of the biggest instigators against voter ID laws is the Brennan Center for Justice—an organization that has received more than $7 million from Soros since 2000. Now you know why so many states have faced lawsuits in regards to voter identification.

This may help explain why the BLM diatribe of complaints now extend way beyond police shootings. Their platform now includes, among other things, a call for a radical restructuring of the tax code, public financing of elections, a ban on campaign contributions, universal Internet access, free tuition in public colleges, reparations for blacks, and stronger union protections.

The BLM has even moved into international affairs by accusing Israel of genocide and demanding that the US cut military and economic ties with Israel. In short, the BLM is almost in lock-step with the stated goals of Soros’ Open Society Foundation. Soros’ foundation even saw the unrest in Baltimore over the Freddie Gray death not as tragic, but as “a unique opportunity” to further their agenda.

In short, BLM whored themselves out to Soros’ money. And as a result, you can no longer take any of the BLM’s positions seriously. None of the Black Lives Matters riots are justified. In fact, after investigations were concluded, it is extraordinarily difficult to believe the BLM claim of white supremacy and white oppression or white on black violence when the evidence clearly shows black cops are defending themselves from armed black men.

This in light of the staggering statistics proving that the largest threat to the black community is in fact black-on-black crime.

As David French of the National Review so eloquently stated, the fact of the matter is that Black Lives Matter has nothing to do with the false narratives of “hands up, don’t shoot” or “open season on black men.” These rioters can’t even wait for the most basic of investigations. This is about destruction, about bringing down the established order.

So Kellogg’s gets caught funding an anti-American and clearly violent organization, and their response is to pull advertising from the news site (Breitbart) that had the temerity to expose them. According to the Kellogg Company, they pulled their ads because the news site is “not aligned with our values as a company.”

Are you serious? Just what exactly are your values as a company? To fund what could be argued to be a domestic terrorist group? Or is it more akin to funding a hate group?

But don’t think that Breitbart was resigned to simply sitting back and calling it business as usual.

Breitbart News Editor-in-Chief Alexander Marlow launched a #DumpKelloggs petition and called upon the site’s 45,000,000 monthly readers to boycott Kellogg’s products:

Breitbart News is the largest platform for pro-family content anywhere on the Internet. We are fearless advocates for traditional American values, perhaps most important among them is freedom of speech, or our motto “more voices, not less.” For Kellogg’s, an American brand, to blacklist Breitbart News in order to placate left-wing totalitarians is a disgraceful act of cowardice. They insult our incredibly diverse staff and spit in the face of our 45,000,000 highly engaged, highly perceptive, highly loyal readers, many of whom are Kellogg’s customers. Boycotting Breitbart News for presenting mainstream American ideas is an act of discrimination and intense prejudice. If you serve Kellogg’s products to your family, you are serving up bigotry at your breakfast table.

So you tell me—what the hell is Kellogg’s doing funding the Black Lives Matter movement, and should they be boycotted?
