Radical City Councilwoman ‘Celebrates’ National Police Week by Insulting Cops

By: - May 16, 2019

Kshama Sawant, Seattle’s unhinged, socialist city councilwoman, raises the term anti-cop radical to new heights. While officers across America honor our fallen brothers and sisters during National Police Week, the despicable city politician marked the solemn event by attacking her city’s police officers—again.

According to Jason Rantz of KTTH Radio 770, who referred to the councilwoman as “cop-hating,” Sawant said, “African-American community members are overwhelmingly disproportionately targeted in fatal police shootings, arrests, and mass incarceration. Seattle police shoot and kill more people each year than the police forces of many countries.” Where? Lichtenstein, Andorra, or Vatican City?

Her use of the word “targeted” is offensive not only to the cops but to the truth. She told KUOW Radio (NPR) she’d like to see a civilian elected board established that would set police department policies and procedures (instead of a police chief). I bet she would.

This despicable city councilwoman is most infamous for her malicious accusations, referring to two Seattle police officers as murderers for shooting an armed suspect even after an official investigation found they’d acted properly.

Kevin Stuckey, Seattle Police Officers Guild (SPOG) president, said “I am a member of this community, I am a police officer, and I happen to be an African-American police officer. And I was absolutely disgusted by her comments.”

I’ve known Officer Stuckey for a long time and worked with him for many years. He is not a bomb-thrower. He’s contemplative and measured in his statements. These are traits the cop-hating councilwoman could benefit from emulating. Then again, perhaps we’d all be better off if she’d just keep her hate-filled mouth shut once in a while.

How about, at least, not attacking cops during the week set aside to honor police officers who’ve made the ultimate sacrifice for America’s communities?

Still, the saddest part of this story may be the silence her fellow city councilmembers appear to be marinating in. You’d think at least one of the eight other leftist but marginally less radical members would call out Sawant on her defamation against the city’s police officers, right?

Well, I’m not sure how those other councilmembers are honoring National Police Week. But, sadly, it doesn’t seem to include the least rebuke of their council comrade’s toxic anti-cop spew.
