Democrats Show They Have No Honor or Respect, Refuse to Stand for Widow of Fallen Navy SEAL

As I sat and listened to the Commander in Chief’s address to our nation and the Congress, I felt a stirring that I have not felt in quite some time, probably since 2001. I was encouraged, and felt that maybe, just maybe, that the tone and content of the message President Trump delivered would bridge the gap between our two opposing political parties.

Then came the story of Special Operator Ryan Owens and the introduction of his wife, Carryn, who was sitting in the gallery. Ryan died in the defense of our country on foreign soil. For anyone to show disrespect to his wife or our fallen warriors as a whole is simply reprehensible. As some of these attendees just sat there, not showing any kind of heart, refusing to stand and support the widow of a hero, I wonder what was going through their minds. What they hoped to accomplish?

As a disabled veteran myself (three back surgeries, fusions, daily pain and medications), I have to wonder what purpose they could possibly think they were serving other than alienating every single person that loves this country, its military members and their families especially. To show disrespect like they did is beyond politics– it is rude, mean-spirited and has no place in our political system.

So, to those Democrats that did not stand or acknowledge Mrs. Owens and her husband’s sacrifice, I say to you: whatever you were thinking, all you have done is made every military member, family member and supporter of our brave men and women lose all respect for you.

I hope you remember that come election time.
