There are times when one sees the president take advantage of the hysteria and gullibility of the Dems, when you almost want to warn them out of sheer humanity. But then you come to your senses, remembering how amusing it is to see, and you watch it play out again and again. So consider this gloating, not a warning.
Which brings us to the president’s recently oft-repeated mantra that he wants to run against Joe Biden because Biden would be the easiest to beat.
Donald Trump and his people know full well that Biden, a political veteran with long term national IOUs and perceived as a moderate by some, would be the hardest to beat and one of his far-left cohorts in the race would be much less difficult to conquer. That’s why they are saying they want Biden the pushover.
And it’s working.
Like good little lemmings the Dems are already criticizing Biden as the president’s preferred opponent. They have been sniping at Joe on many fronts. During the debates later this week watch some of them try to tear him apart on the Trump preference and also on several issues he has actually been moderate on. At least moderate compared to his Stalinist party.
There are those Dems who understand the president’s game. However, they are smeared by fellow Dems with PC jibes of sexism and racism and are being roundly ignored by most of the media and the hard-left party faithful. In talking to some, they have questioned me on the theme of this article, theorizing that if I support the president and write this it is because, since I would never warn a Dem, that I am really pulling a triple cross and that the Bolshie candidates are actually the strongest against Trump.
Ah, the beauty of playing three-dimensional chess with paranoiacs.
They’ll subtly go after the former veep’s age, his time in politics, his stated ability to work with Republicans, his supposed disrespectful treatment of that fantasist Anita Hill, and anything else over his forty-seven-year career in the Senate that does not meet their Soviet standard.
For most of us political types debates are bloodsport. We’ll give and remove points for things down to neckwear and for bigger factors like gaffes and facts gone wild. That latter aspect should be in great evidence at the debate.
While we are doing that the president and his team will watch it and sit back and laugh. In fact, aside from also doing the above judgmental activities, they will marvel on how Dem hatred of Trump, which aside from authoritarian socialism is their main ideology, can lead them to shiv the guy who is their only viable candidate in the general election. Trump will smile while listening to the Dems publicly advance policies that are so far left as to make them unelectable.
Though Biden knows how foolish they are.
He was first elected to the U.S. Senate when he was twenty-nine years old in 1972. That was the year that another GOP incumbent president got the far-left nominee he wanted to run against by using some of the same psyops.
That man, Richard Nixon, though cursed for other reasons, kinda did okay at the polls. That is if you define okay as winning forty-nine out of fifty states.
