Watergate Retread Attacks Trump

CNN contributor and self-confessed corrupt White House official John Dean made a sad has-been attempt to tie Watergate and the Russian hoax together at a Dem-sponsored House hearing yesterday.

But hardly anyone had much appreciation for his Norma Desmond act.

The Dems themselves seemed to be going through the motions, though they tried hard to pretend otherwise. Even they know the Russian hoax is history and are already preparing a forward defense for the findings soon to be revealed by Michael Horowitz and John Durham.

The GOP members ridiculed and destroyed Dean’s credibility. They have seen Dean before. I mean, long after his role in Watergate. For Dean is one of those DC cheap trollops that can be made to damn any Republican for a bit of attention and minor remuneration to be worked out at a future date.

Dean droned on about obstruction of justice, like a guy who had one hit in the early 70s but still thinks he’s a pop idol. For that little lying ditty, and his criminal service in government, he went to jail. Many men, like Chuck Colson, change in jail and come out better individuals. But not John Dean. He just lies for the other side now.

This may be one of the last Russian hoax hearings we’ll see. The media has moved on, the people never cared, and the consensus on both sides of the same aisle is that the Mueller Report gave Trump the win. However, Dean’s appearance was probably worked out long before the issue tanked, when the Dems still thought it was a winner, and nobody had the good sense to cancel it.

For all this and other Russian hoax reruns will do is remind voters of the grand charade the country had to endure for two years just to find out that there was neither smoke nor fire.

To pathetically trot out this faded hack shows the Dems haven’t completely figured that out yet.

Good.
