What President Trump Should Have Said About Antifa

By: - August 6, 2019

Yesterday the president condemned “white supremacy,” as he should of. Anyone who thinks a person or people are superior based on color, race, or ethnicity is a bloody idiot and is betraying the ideals men of this nation have fought and died for. More so after the periods of those Democrat-inspired travesties of slavery and Jim Crow.

Those today who would massacre innocent people because of some assumed need to ethnically cleanse America should feel the full brunt of the law up to and including the death penalty.

But in keeping with his condemnation of white supremacy he should have also specifically denounced systems or groups that would advance their twisted and hateful views of violent social engineering and economic envy. Such groups would destroy this society to achieve those aims.

And that brings us to “leftist supremacy” and violent groups like Antifa.

For the president to leave them out because it wasn’t politically timely to mention them plays right into the hands of individuals, movements, and political parties who rightfully condemn some hatred but give a free ride to other types of hatred just as horrible and historically much more deadly.

How many were killed by National Socialist Germany? How many were murdered in the gulags of Socialist Russia? What is the total number of the millions whose lives were snuffed out by the insane collectivist experiments of Mao’s China? Who speaks for those who lay under the killing fields of Cambodia’s Khmer Rouge?

To give them and their modern cheerleaders a pass by omission or commission is to gladden the hearts of AOC, Rep. Omar, Bernie Sanders, and their ilk who are not reticent about advocating the very same policies that led to a century of socialist butchery.

Yes, the president was referring to the cowardly lunatics who perpetrated recent attacks. However, to call them out and leave be their leftist doppelgängers does the nation and history a disservice. The hard left and its violent clique like Antifa have gotten away with much because some are afraid of their allies in the Democratic Party and the popular culture.

President Donald Trump is not afraid of these vanguards of vicious vermin that would bring about leftist supremacy.

He should speak accordingly.
