Women’s March Protester: “I Dream Women will One Day Have the Same Rights as Guns”

By Chris Wagoner, OpsLens:

I recently watched the “Million Women March” coverage and thought that, while we have come a very long way from where we were just about 100 years ago, women still do have some issues that need to be addressed. But rights? Do those who keep saying they want equal rights know that they already have them?

They need equal treatment– I agree with that issue completely! What made me laugh, and realize that some of the protesters may not realize just what they are talking about, was one sign I saw a couple protesters holding. The sign read, “I dream women will one day have the same rights as guns.” Really? I cannot imagine that these people thought this through very much.

OK, so let’s play that game. Some of these protesters think guns have more rights than women. First off, inanimate objects do not have any rights. Only people do, but that small thing aside, let’s just play along with their signs. If women had the same rights as guns, what would those women’s lives be like?

Well, in my state of Florida, you would have to get a license to be able to have a woman with you. You would have to go through a background check, get fingerprinted and photographed, wait three days to pick her up and take her out, and when you did take her out, she would have to be covered head to toe (Burka?). Then, when you did go out, you would find places that have signs in the window that say “No women allowed.” And if they saw you had a woman with you, they would ask you to leave, as they do not like women. If you went to certain places (like schools or federal buildings), they would not allow your woman friend to go inside; you would have to lock her in your car.

You would be able to take your woman friend out with you (without having to cover her up) when you were doing certain activities like hunting, fishing, and camping, though. She would not even have to cover up. But when driving around in your car, you would have to lock her up, and secure her some way so that she cannot get out easily. If police stopped you, they would make you give her over, and they would make her sit in the police car while they finished the stop.

So, the next time you see someone who makes this stupid statement, like the ladies with these signs, inform them politely that guns do not have any rights, only people do. This is part of the problem we have in our country– we hold inanimate objects responsible for actions taken by the humans holding them.

I have a really interesting idea: let’s hold people responsible for their actions.

There are millions and millions of responsible gun owners who will never commit a crime, shoot another person, or have any other issues at all. Stop blaming the guns; it’s a people problem we have, not a gun problem. These ladies are seriously misinformed and do not realize what they wish for. If they got treated like guns, they would be begging to be treated like women after a very short time.
