It’s with a heavy heart that I write this. The J6 truth movement, our community of patriots, lost a giant this week. Bobby Powell, a proud United States Marine and a fearless journalist who put everything on the line, has passed away.
For those of us in this fight, Bobby wasn’t just a journalist; he was a warrior and a friend. I’ll never forget the first time I met him in person. I picked him up at Reagan International on August 24, 2023, and we finally got to spend some time together, talking J6 over drinks at a pub. He was exactly the man you’d expect—principled, passionate, and stubborn. He loved his cigars and flat-out refused to give them up even after his first major heart attack, though he swore to me he had cut back. That was Bobby—uncompromising.
Just a few weeks later, on September 12, 2023, I saw the kind of opposition he faced. He was viciously bullhorned by a local D.C. agitator, Anarchy Princess, who screamed right next to his ears—ears that were already badly damaged from his military service. They hated him because he wasn’t afraid of them, and he never backed down.

It comes as no surprise that upon hearing of his death, she took to social media to mock him, a final act of cowardice against a man she could never intimidate in life.

Our publisher, J6er Shawn Witzemann, shared his own memories of Bobby’s relentless spirit. “I love Bobby,” Shawn said. “I met him in Ocala, Florida, in June 2022… I was there when he was trying to hand an envelope with a thumb drive of the guys he believed were federal agents [to Eric Trump and Trent Evans]. We had disagreements over that for years… but the one thing that we always did agree on was that January 6 was a sh*t show and that a lot of innocent people had been wrapped up in it. I’ll miss going back-and-forth with him.”
That drive defined Bobby. It was on full display when I sat down with him and attorney Roger Roots after his bombshell testimony in the Nancy Barron trial. He had finally gotten his video—the one the government fought for hours to suppress—entered into evidence. Why did they fight so hard? Because, as his legal team argued, it showed what Bobby was convinced were federal agents involved in the breach.
His video told the story the government wants to bury. It captured the very first window break, not by a Trump supporter, but by a BLM sympathizer. It captured the police being ordered to walk away. And it captured a man in paramilitary gear—an “operator,” as Bobby called him—ripping the entire window from its frame. Bobby, a Marine, stood in the way to stop anyone from going in.
This fight took everything from him. As Roger Roots shared, after testifying in a later trial for Rebecca Lavrenz, Bobby suffered a mild heart attack right there in the hallway of the federal courthouse. He literally gave his heart for this cause. He was a true crusading journalist who fought until his last breath.
Now, his watch has ended. Bobby Powell, the Marine who stood his post, has been called home. He leaves behind a legacy of courage and a family struggling to cover his final expenses, because he spent everything he had fighting for us.
We cannot let his sacrifice be in vain. Rest easy, Marine. We have the watch now.
To assist the Powell family, a fundraiser has been established to help with funeral costs. Please consider donating to honor a true American patriot.
