A “deep rabbit hole” is opening up in the conservative movement, and Stewart Rhodes isn’t afraid to go down it.
In an exclusive interview with 1776Returns.com, the Oath Keepers founder weighed in on the sudden death of Charlie Kirk, voicing theories that are spreading rapidly in patriot circles: it was a political assassination.
“Nobody… in our circles anyway, believes that that kid killed Charlie Kirk,” Rhodes stated. “They think he was murdered, you know, most likely by Mossad, the CIA in conjunction together. That’s what I think. I think Candace Owens is right on the right track on that.”
Rhodes connects the alleged assassination directly to a growing and volatile “split” within the conservative base over U.S. support for Israel—a topic he says Kirk was beginning to broach.
“She [Candace Owens] pointed out, this is what Charlie Kirk was talking about in his own private chats just prior: that they were going to kill him,” Rhodes claimed. “And what was he doing? He was starting to speak out against what he saw going wrong with Israeli foreign policy… and he started questioning their influence in the United States.”
Rhodes argued that any pushback against this influence is immediately, and falsely, labeled as bigotry.
“The problem is they try to browbeat you and say, ‘Well, if you say that, you’re anti-Semitic,’” Rhodes said. “No, I just don’t like any foreign government buying our politicians. I don’t care who it is… It should be America First, period.”
This ideological battle, he believes, is the new front line, forcing patriots to re-evaluate who they can actually trust. He laid out his own shortlist, endorsing Tulsi Gabbard and Thomas Massie as leaders with “good intent” who truly love the country.
However, he issued stark warnings about other major figures in the “America First” orbit, including Peter Thiel (“I don’t trust Peter Thiel at all”) and his protégé, J.D. Vance (“which is why I have a question mark over the head of J.D. Vance”).
For Rhodes, the fight is no longer just about RINO-hunting; it’s about exposing a “Uniparty” that is loyal to foreign interests and willing to permanently silence any effective voice—like Charlie Kirk’s—that threatens to pull back the curtain.
