President Donald Trump is reacting to the stabbing murder of Hollywood filmmaker Rob Reiner and his wife Michele by suggesting the politically left-leaning director’s own hatred of Trump was the catalyst for the crime.
“A very sad thing happened last night in Hollywood,” the president posted Monday on Truth Social.
“Rob Reiner, a tortured and struggling, but once very talented movie director and comedy star, has passed away, together with his wife, Michele, reportedly due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME, sometimes referred to as TDS.
“He was known to have driven people CRAZY by his raging obsession of President Donald J. Trump, with his obvious paranoia reaching new heights as the Trump Administration surpassed all goals and expectations of greatness, and with the Golden Age of America upon us, perhaps like never before. May Rob and Michele rest in peace!”
As WorldNetDaily reported, Reiner’s 32-year-old son Nick Reiner is now in custody charged with fatally stabbing his parents, and is now being held on $4 million bail.
In recent years, the director of “A Few Good Men” and “The Princess Bride” had become extremely vocal against Trump, being among the big Hollywood figures promoting the debunked hoax that Trump colluded with Russian President Vladimir Putin to help Trump win the presidency in 2016.
“Putin’s government attacked our democracy by interfering in the 2016 election to help Donald Trump become president. That is not in dispute,” Reiner said in one resurfaced video.

“It has been verified by all U.S. intelligence agencies, the Republican-led Senate Intelligence Committee and the U.S. Justice Department.”
Brian Stelter of CNN is calling Trump’s comments about Reiner “crude” and “crass.”
“Unfortunately, President Trump is out this morning with a pretty crude, pretty crass post about Reiner, suggesting that maybe somehow he died because of his hatred for all things Trump,” Stelter said on the air.
“Hopefully that’s not going to get too much attention today as it really muddies the discourse.”

Reaction on Truth Social to Trump’s assessment is mixed, with comments including:
“I love you but this is seriously distasteful.”
“I agree. Love him but this was certainly a missed opportunity.”
“No it’s not. It may be uncomfortable, but compare it to the many left wing reactions to the two attempts on Trump’s life and the murder of Charlie Kirk. Reiner was a great talent, but he encouraged violence on others. Sad but true.”
