Andy Griffith, playing the role of Sheriff Andy Taylor in “The Andy Griffith Show,” explains why parents need to be there to lead their children in the right direction.
A commentary explains that grooming by transgenders would end immediately if parents listened to the sheriff’s advice.
Asked about letting a “young ‘un” make a life decision, the famed sheriff explains, “No I’m afraid it don’t work that way. If you let a young ‘un decide for himself, he’ll grab at the first flashy thing with shiny ribbons on it.
“Then when he finds out there’s a hook it in it’s too late. Wrong packages come packaged with so much glitter it’s hard to convince him that other things might be better in the long run. All a parent can do is say wait, trust me. And try to keep temptation away.”
