A U.S. Border Patrol agent reportedly fatally shot an armed man in Minneapolis, just 17 days after an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent shot and killed Renee Good in the same city.
The City of Minneapolis’s X account initially acknowledged reports of a shooting “involving federal law enforcement” in a post Saturday morning but did not specify what federal agency it involved. About an hour later, multiple sources reported the man who was shot had died.
We are aware of reports of another shooting involving federal law enforcement in the area of 26th Street W and Nicollet Ave. We are working to confirm additional details. We ask the public to remain calm and avoid the immediate area.

Fox News’s Bill Melugin first reported on X that a Border Patrol agent fired the shot, citing multiple law enforcement sources.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) shared with the Daily Caller News Foundation (DCNF) a photograph of a gun with two magazines it believes was possessed by the suspect. ICE and Border Patrol are both agencies of DHS.

“I just spoke with the White House after another horrific shooting by federal agents this morning. Minnesota has had it. This is sickening,” Democratic Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz wrote in a post to X, shortly after reports of the shooting broke. “The President must end this operation. Pull the thousands of violent, untrained officers out of Minnesota. Now.”
The City of Minneapolis referred the DCNF to the statement it posted to X when asked for comment.
