Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas has delivered the way for Americans to regain confidence in the judiciary, in government, and more.

He spoke at the University of Texas Austin Law School and took questions, including from a student, Sergio Nunez, who wanted to know: “Why do you think public trust has eroded? Which concerns do you think are legitimate, and how do you suggest we, as a people, can rebuild confidence in government, including the judiciary?”

That confidence has plunged in recent years as Barack Obama and Joe Biden both actively weaponized the federal government against President Donald Trump, against the pro-life community, against conservatives, and some states like Colorado have followed the agenda by weaponizing against Christians.

“I think if we don’t stand up and take on the ship of our country, and take responsible for it, we are slowly letting others control how we think and what we think,” he said. “I think the beauty of going to school is that you learn how to think for yourself, you develop the discipline to think things through. If you think it’s losing confidence then you get up and you participate. You don’t sit on the sidelines. You think that the state is being run inconsistent with how you feel, then you get up and you participate. You prepare yourself, if you think the medical profession is not right, well you become a doctor or a medical person and you deal with that. I think we need to take ownership of our country. It’s our country.”

A report at the Gateway Pundit explained that the event was streamed on CSPAN.

The report noted Thomas also “criticized progressive ideology and highlighted the significance of civility in public discourse, warning that a lack of civility could affect the future of the Supreme Court.”

Just this week a leftist member of the court, Sonia Sotomayor, was reduced to apologizing to fellow Justice Brett Kavanaugh for insulting him during one of her public addresses, implying that he was a member of a privileged elite on the bench.

Thomas also said, ““Progressivism seeks to replace the basic premises of the Declaration of Independence and hence our form of government.”

He said, ““In my view, we must find in ourselves that same level of courage that the signers of the Declaration have so that we can do for our future what they did for theirs.”:
