As part of his cooperation with an author writing a book about him, Joe Biden gave a series of recorded interviews.
It was at that point that suspicions arose that he revealed classified information to the author, although neither conversation participant was charged for those violations.
But now the federal government has announced plans to release those audio recordings to satisfy a Freedom of Information case, and Biden desperately wants them kept under lock and key.
To President Donald Trump, that’s no surprise.
“A Crooked Politician!!!” he said on social media.
That was a follow up to a citation that Biden was suing the Department of Justice to halt the release of that information, which was part of a special counsel probe of Biden’s apparently illegal handling of classified government material.
🚨 JUST IN: President Trump fires back after learning Joe Biden is SUING to block the DOJ from releasing his interview recordings
WHAT IS HE HIDING?

The special prosecutor did not suggest charges against Biden at the time, as he concluded prosecutors would have a difficult time proving Biden’s “intent,” and further, he would be viewed as an elderly man with memory issues.

Biden filed a lawsuit against the DOJ this week trying to block any release of the audio records, or transcripts, of his interviews with writer Mark Zwonitzer.
Special Counsel Robert Hur obtained those during his investigation of Biden’s mishandling of government documents, an investigation that revealed Biden had those papers in several locations, including in an unsecured and relatively unprotected garage where they were stacked in a pile.
Biden’s lawyers claimed the DOJ plans to release the files to Congress and the conservative Heritage Foundation after previously arguing that they were exempt from disclosure under federal public records law, Fox News reported.
Biden claims release of the investigative files from a formal government review would be “an unwarranted invasion of President Biden’s privacy.”
“Every American, including a sitting or former Vice President, has a right to privacy in the personal conversations he has within his own home,” his lawyers claimed. “And when the U.S. Department of Justice obtains that private information through a criminal investigation, the Department bears a particular responsibility to protect it from disclosure.”
Biden made the tapes for Zwonitzer in Biden’s own home in 2017 and 2017.
Fox explained, “Hur’s yearlong investigation resulted in a 345-page report that questioned Biden’s age and mental competence but recommended no criminal charges against the then-81-year-old. Hur said he found insufficient evidence to successfully prosecute a case in court.”
The report said what’s already known about evidence in the recordings is that Biden “was at times fuzzy about dates and details and said he was unfamiliar with the paper trail for some of the sensitive documents he handled.”
Biden’s bid for re-election in 2024 dissolved into nothing after he was on a televised debate with President Trump and revealed a noticeable decline in his mental acuity.
Federal prosecutors, about the same time, were creating a criminal case against Trump over his possession of documents from his presidency. He had taken boxes of papers with him when he left the White House. The feds alleged those were improperly handled classified documents, but Trump confirmed he had the authority to declassify, and did, all of the papers he had.
That case was one of multiple lawfare cases brought by Democrats against Trump. It later died.
RedState pointed out: “Of course, there’s the big question: To what extent do these audio tapes reveal Joe Biden’s increasingly obvious mental decline throughout his term? There is plenty of evidence about that as it is, not the least of which was his disastrous debate performance against then-candidate Donald Trump in 2024.”
