An extension of a ceasefire with Iran is looming, according to a new report.

The plan reportedly is awaiting the endorsement of President Donald Trump but would involve a 60-day memorandum of understanding, Axios said.

Elements could include reopening the Strait of Hormuz for unrestricted shipping without tolls, Iran would commit to never pursuing nuclear weapons and there would be negotiations over the nation’s uranium stockpiles, and the U.S. would be open to discussing sanctions relief and releasing frozen Iranian assets.

The report cited information provided from “two U.S. officials and a regional source involved in the mediation efforts.”

The report called it the “most significant diplomatic breakthrough since the war started,” but still short of a final agreement.

A report at Reuters said the deal is more an “outline agreement.”

The report explained, “Trump has repeatedly said the end of the war is close but told media at a cabinet meeting on Wednesday he was not yet satisfied by the negotiations and that the U.S. was not discussing easing sanctions, one of Tehran’s demands.”

The word comes even has exchanges continue between America, in Trump’s efforts to assure that the rogue Islamic regime in Tehran never obtains nuclear weapons to use against the world, as it has threatened, and Iran.

There were reports U.S. forces had shot down multiple Iranian attack drones within the last few hours, while Iran had launched a ballistic missile toward Kuwait, a strike that was intercepted.

“These actions were measured, purely defensive and intended to maintain the ceasefire,” a U.S. official, who requested anonymity to speak candidly about military operations, told Reuters.

The plan reportedly was awaiting endorsement from Trump.
