Though he’s been on the job just a matter of weeks, DHS Secretary MarkWayne Mullin deftly pushed back on a Democrat U.S. senator Tuesday as he testified before the Senate Appropriations Committee.
Mullin didn’t appreciate Sen. Chris Murphy’s intimation that DHS law enforcement personnel were “dangerous,” “lawless” and acting contrary to the Constitution.
The secretary told Murphy his “political theater” of criticizing agents was part of the reason death threats against them are up 8000%.
