A co-chair of the Democratic Socialists of America is being ferociously mocked for her inability to answer a simple question from a journalist.

DSA co-chair Megan Romer appeared Friday on “The New Yorker Radio Hour” podcast, and told host David Remnick: “We do believe in taxing the hell out of millionaires.”

The question from Remnick that prompted Romer to blow a gasket was: “What does ‘taxing the hell out of them’ mean?”

Romer replied, chuckling: “Uhhhh, yeah, you know, again, I don’t have like a solid [answer], but … .”

Remnick interjected: “But shouldn’t you?”

“Ummmmm, that’s a good question,” said Romer.

Remnick again asked: “If you’re the co-chair of the DSA, shouldn’t you be more specific than just taxing the hell out of something? What exactly do you mean?”

“So again, it’s democracy, right?” Romer said. “And we have to look at what we have to spend and what we need. We don’t want to depend on the existence of millionaires because that means people are still getting exploited.”

“So yeah, we need to look at what we need to pay for in the interim, what sort of tax base we need for that to happen, and build from there.”

Journalist JD Rucker posted a column saying Romer “has “absolute porridge for brains.”

“What better way to let progressives see what they’re voting for? Trot out a co-chair of the DSA with maybe two brain cells to rub together, ask her simple questions, and watch her implode.”

Commentator Stephen L. Miller indicated: “They went to campus and had their heads filled with junk and have never been challenged on any of this for their entire life, by anyone. An entire generation of privileged idiots.”

When Romer was asked to explain the DSA position on open borders,” Western Lensman on X noted: “The slightest ask for explanation or scrutiny placed on these nonsensical positions results in this rhetorical gobbledygook.”

Romer said: “They’re all part of this long term goal where we are putting huge amounts of resources into alleviating poverty, into stopping destabilization of countries internationally that are causing a huge migrant flow.”

“Most people in the U,S, are here because of a prior period of unrestricted immigration or of much looser immigration. We’re not saying throw the gates open. We’re saying, let’s do that. Let’s look at where the system is really flawed, really problematic.”

Remnick said: “I think that’s called immigration reform.”

“It is,” replied Romer, “but we think that you have to look at all of these things from first principles. Right? We started here from first principles. So what do we want out of an immigration system? Let’s start there. That doesn’t mean thinking just throwing open the borders and then building from the ground up.”

“It means reforming the system we have while we rethink the system, while we build this new one from the ground up, and then hopefully eventually flipping the switch.”

Western Lensman added: “It doesn’t matter how you get to ‘flipping the switch’ on an open border. All of that is pure spin and obfuscation. Just own the fact that you want to abolish the border and mass amnesty. She stated exactly that about a week ago.”

During the podcast, Romer admitted she “got most of my news from Jon Stewart. That was my primary news source.”

Is the news we hear every day actually broadcasting messages from God? The answer is an absolute yes! Find out how!
