A Trump-endorsed congressman has been caught on video opening the mailbox of a citizen and allegedly rifling through its contents.
TMZ posted the Ring camera footage showing U.S. Rep. Randy Fine, R-Fla., canvassing his 6th Congressional District on Sunday, and snooping inside a resident’s mailbox on Sunday.
“TMZ has confirmed with Fine’s office that it is indeed him in the video,” the news outlet reported.
“As you can see, Fine rings the doorbell and waits on the porch before he starts looking around. He then lifts the lid of the mailbox and sifts through some envelopes.
“Rep. Fine isn’t shown removing, tampering with, or inserting anything … so there’s no apparent criminal issue here. Still … rifling through a stranger’s mailbox is a pretty strange way to win over a voter.”

It actually is a federal crime to go through someone else’s mail, but the law concerning the matter focuses heavily on intent.
The statute concerning the matter is 18 U.S.C. § 1702, which states: “Whoever takes any letter, postal card, or package out of any post office or any authorized depository for mail matter, or from any letter or mail carrier, or which has been in any post office or authorized depository, or in the custody of any letter or mail carrier, before it has been delivered to the person to whom it was directed, with design to obstruct the correspondence, or to pry into the business or secrets of another, or opens, secretes, embezzles, or destroys the same, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than five years, or both.”
Fine has not commented directly on the matter, but he did say on X Tuesday: “There is evil in this world, and we must fight it every day.”

Fine also posted a video of himself as Central Florida voters were heading to the polls on primary Election Day.
“Never in my wildest dreams did I think that, in the same week, someone would paint a Nazi swastika on my yard sign and then put devil horns on me in a video,” Fine said.
“But that’s where we’re at in our political climate in 2026 and it’s sad.”

On Monday evening, President Donald Trump gave Fine a “Complete and Total Endorsement” as “a MAGA Warrior who is doing a fantastic job representing Florida’s 6th Congressional District!”
