FBI chief Kash Patel has delivered what can only be described as a figurative gut-punch to a leftist senator during a congressional hearing.
It was during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing when U.S. Sen. Peter Welch, a Democrat from Vermont, was badgering him, according to a report at the Gateway Pundit, “over the non-existent threat of government interference in the American people’s ability to cast votes in the upcoming election.”
Welch ranted about Patel “pandering to President Trump.”
Patel promised not to participate in the senator’s “charade of lies,” then turned on him.
“By the way, I want to know how your wealth increased 4,000% since you became a United States senator. That’s a magic act all Americans should be able to know,” he said.
No response from the senator.

Patel also had discussed a record drop in violent crimes during his tenure at the FBI.
Welch insisted Trump was “rigging” the November elections, prompting Patel to confirm he had no intention of playing along with a “charade of lies.”
The Hill noted Patel also released a letter to panel chief Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa to explain various expenditures.
