John Brennan: Treason, Security Clearance, and National Security — PART 1

By: - August 21, 2018

So, John Brennan is back in the news trying to backtrack his statement claiming that President Donald Trump’s actions have been “treasonous.” Of course, it comes on the heels of Trump revoking his security clearance.

If you spent even one-minute watching or reading the news over the last few months, you will recall that all we hear was the accusation that President Trump committed an act of “treason” in his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The reasons are many, but they all amount to the same thing: the left is accusing President Trump of treason. After serving 20 years in the United States Navy, I have a real problem with that.

First let us define the exact crime as published under U.S. Code for Treason. 18 U.S.C. § 2381 states: “Whoever, owing allegiance to the United States, levies war against them or adheres to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort within the United States or elsewhere, is guilty of treason and shall suffer death, or shall be imprisoned not less than five years and fined under this title but not less than $10,000; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States.”

After 20 years of defending my country and the U.S. Constitution, “treason” is a very serious subject.

Now things really don’t get more serious than when the former director of the CIA, a former CIA operative and the FBI deputy directory publicly call out the President for treason with two of them actually calling for what some would argue to be “armed insurrection.”

But perhaps these individuals should read and understand what the law says and how it defines treason. Because, if anyone, the very individuals calling out President Trump ought to be arrested for treason and “high crimes and misdemeanors.”

Let me explain.

This whole conversation started over a “miscommunication” by President Trump at the Helsinki summit. In short, according to President Trump’s official statement, he said “would” instead of “wouldn’t.” And this sent the radical left into apoplectic shock.

But I firmly believe that President Trump had every right to say what he said. Folks, I wrote an article where we discussed how the CIA (and by corollary most intelligence agencies) lost all credibility. I also wrote that article back in 2016…so why was it so wrong for President Trump to call into doubt the findings of the intelligence community?

In fact, following the Helsinki summit, CNN counter-terrorism analyst Philip Mudd called on the “shadow government” to finally reveal itself and revolt against the duly elected President. Ladies and gentlemen, that is the very definition of treason and insurrection.

But wait, there is more.

Following the speech in Helsinki, CNN went to an all-out assault on the president with a continuous blitz of negative coverage.

Now here is where it gets interesting. You see, Mudd was appointed by none other than Robert Mueller. Yes, that’s right, the very same Mueller who is leading the investigation on Russian collusion. Folks, you can’t make this stuff up.

In our next article we’ll discuss Brennan’s current and past actions and how they amount to nothing less than high crimes and misdemeanors…the very same crimes he is accusing President Trump of having committed.
