The Train Wreck That is the New Democratic Party

By: - February 18, 2019

To see just how far off the rails this has gone you need look no farther than to the two new Democrat representatives: Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) and IIhan Omar. These two new congresswoman singlehandedly have taken over the Democratic Party. They have no experience in the matters they are proposing and have even less regard as to what they are doing to their party. Well, maybe not the Democratic Party as they are both Socialists, but they are leading the Democrats to become a distant shadow of what they once were.

These two should be working for the Trump campaign as everything they are doing is making reelection look more and more like a sure thing.

In January 2019, in the middle of the presidential crisis in Venezuela, Omar condemned the Trump administration’s decision to recognize Juan Guaidó as the president of Venezuela. She condemned many other actions the U.S. was taking in that regard, and said that this was a “U.S. backed coup in Venezuela” and that Guaidó was part of the “far-right opposition.”

In August, before the election, Rep.-elect Ilhan Omar told a crowd of supporters that the Boycott, Divest and Sanction movement was “counteractive” because it wasn’t “helpful in getting a two-state solution.” Ironically, less than a week after Omar’s election, Omar clearly stated her position as a BDS supporter. This is in contrast to what she said before the vote.

Watching the ridiculous grandstanding in her “questioning” (if you can call it that) of  Elliott Abrams, President Trump’s appointed envoy to Venezuela, she showed just how if it doesn’t fit her agenda she is not concerned with the facts. At one point Mr. Abrams answered one of her tirades with an emphatic “No” about supporting a massacre. Omar responded with “I’ll take that as a yes.” Between her offensive tweets, her performance at the hearings, her disingenuous and self-serving statements about BDS, she has stayed in the limelight and the news, making herself the celebrity of the moment. Calls for her resignation or, in the least, removal from committees are ongoing.

Omar is, of course, supported by AOC. Speaking of AOC, with her grand Green New Deal plan to destroy everything that has worked so well here in the U.S., she is becoming more of a joke by the day. Her hair-brain scheme to do away with air travel, fossil fuels, and all nuclear energy would cost millions of jobs. Then she has to figure out how to rid the planet of cows. Cows? Sorry I enjoy my hamburgers and steaks,

She wants to force us to remake every single home and building on the U.S. to be more energy efficient, all the while giving free everything, even for those that want to live in mommy’s basement. This is nothing more than the dream of an uninformed bartender that doesn’t understand how anything works. She even thought the loss of 25 thousand jobs in her district due in large part to her work to block Amazon from building a new headquarters in the region was a success. She is delusional.

These two are sucking all the oxygen out of the Democratic Party and giving the Republicans continual and very-low- hanging fruit to pick. Each day these two neophytes are killing the Democratic Party, a party too scared to do anything about it.

They are the new face of the far left and for some reason, the old Democrat politicians, those that haven’t had an original or current idea in decades, are running to follow these two like lemmings stampeding to the farthest left edge of the cliff. Nancy Pelosi does not have that far to run, seeing how she lives on the left coast anyway. Just my opinion.
