Nancy Pelosi Claims President Trump Threw a ‘Temper Tantrum’ During Meeting

By: - May 23, 2019

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and President Donald Trump have rarely been on good terms. However, their relationship seems to be deteriorating even further. This week, President Trump stormed out of an infrastructure meeting after lambasting Pelosi and Senator Chuck Schumer.

Trump has claimed that he won’t work with Democrats until their investigations are over. Trump also labeled the investigations as phony and said Democrats can either go down the “investigation” or “investment” track. It’s unclear if President Trump was referring to infrastructure specifically or any legislation in general.

Meanwhile, Republicans in Congress are worried the recent flair up could stall disaster relief aid. Democrats and Republicans have been squabbling over funding but have made a lot of progress in recent days. A deal appeared to be all but in place. But if Trump won’t cooperate, it might not matter.

Following the brief meeting, Nancy Pelosi wrote:

“Sadly, the only job the President seems to be concerned with is his own. He threatened to stop working with Democrats on all legislation unless we end oversight of his Administration and he had a temper tantrum for us all to see.”

So what drew the president’s rage? Earlier, Nancy Pelosi had claimed that Trump had been engaging in a cover up. President Trump’s alleged ties to Russia have been under investigation and Democrats have been seeking access to Trump’s tax returns and other financial information.

It’s unclear when the president will meet with Democrats again. It’s also unclear when the disaster relief package will be brought to vote. Several Republicans in Congress have made it clear that the show must go on in spite of the flair ups.
