Religious bigotry is an acceptable prejudice to the leftist effete class. Specifically, anti-Christian measures are normally passed and enacted over wide swaths of languid badly educated American areas with nary a thought being given to any potential or real injury to Christians.
The latest targets —I am fully aware this sounds absurd— are airport Chick-fil-A restaurants.
San Antonio International and Buffalo Niagara International airport loons bounced the chicken sandwich retailer because of its owner’s alleged “legacy of anti-LGBTQ behavior.” The airport honchos declined to offer specific proof of the charge. Their personal weltanschauung will apparently do.
Of course, no one bothered to ask the airport authorities if by denying the right to do business to a company owned by a Christian they were discriminating against him or his faith. I mean, who cares about that bunch of fanatics anyway, right?
Well, when that bunch of fanatics hold to the same cosmology that a majority of Americans also subscribe to, when the weirdos base their faith on the belief system that has been the bedrock of Western civilization since Constantine won at Milvian Bridge, and when the oddballs have done nothing more than sell food to people who voluntarily pay them for it, you’d think somebody, oh…let’s say maybe NY state government, would intervene to right the wrong.
Uh, no.
For that to happen the Christians would have to convert to the worship of the Earth Goddess Gaia while at the same time breaking most of the rules and admonitions found in the Bible. Then local authorities and all the usual suspects would be howling to high heaven about the injustice of it all.
Except in Texas.
There the legislature has passed the “Save Chick-fil-A” bill, which tells San Antonio bigots to go fly a kite. It forbids them to substitute their own hatred against Christians for policy. Governor Abbott, perhaps the best governor in America, is expected to sign it.
The poultry restaurant itself is staying out of the fray, taking the hits and preferring to focus on serving their customers. I was actually one of those customers yesterday and it was a tasty meal promptly made and served. The efficiency of the free market. Ah, the simple glory of the thing.
But as other companies have also been targeted by anti-faith zealots (the Hobby Lobby case comes to mind), Chick-fil-A may have to rethink their stance. This is not just an attack on a store that doesn’t do business on Sundays. This is a planned and coordinated assault on the ability of anyone to disagree with the dark and twisted social agenda of the hard left.
For as many knew before this, to resist that kind of cultural mugging you only have one option: To fight back.
