Viewed as one of the most important foreign policy decisions for the new Biden Administration, the question has been whether Washington will maintain a position of hostility towards Israel as witnessed under Obama, or whether the Biden White House will take a new direction.

Unfortunately for Jerusalem, from the start there has been a clear shift away from the Trump Administration’s undeniable support of Israel.

Appointing several Obama-era officials, the Biden White House has brought in some familiar as well as new faces with a range of hostile stances towards Israel and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Arguably the most controversial character has been the appointment of Hady Amr as the Biden Administration’s Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Israel-Palestine.

A founding director of the Brookings Doha Center and moving between the U.S. Government and the organization, Amr has accused Israel of “ethnic cleansing” with his organization accusing Israel of “apartheid.”

“The Beirut-born Amr who grew up in Saudi Arabia had dived into politics as the director of ethnic outreach for Al Gore’s failed presidential campaign,” writes FrontPageMag.

In a report by the New York Times titled, “Foreign Powers Buy Influence at Think Tanks,” the Qatari government was reported to be the largest donor to the Brookings Doha Center, providing $14.8 million. The Qatari government is a major state sponsor of the Hamas terror organization and has been accused of “being utilized by Al Qaeda and the Taliban for fundraising purposes,” by the U.S. government.

In addition to Amr, Biden has appointed Palestinian-American Maher Bitar as the Senior Director for Intelligence Programs at the National Security Council. In addition to serving as Adam Shiff’s top legal advisor in Donald Trump’s first impeachment, Bitar makes up one of the executive board members of the anti-Israeli organization Students for Justice in Palestine, a group that has permeated college campuses across the U.S.

“Greenfield [Daniel Greenfield, a journalist with FrontPageMag] went on to note that Bitar had run a session describing how to best demonize Israel, facilitated a Palestinian Student Society summit addressed by Joseph Massad, who had called Israel a ‘Jewish supremacist state’ and praised terrorism, appeared to dance in a keffiyah in front of a banner reading, ‘Divest from Israel Apartheid;’ and argued that ‘Israel’s rejection of their right to return remains the main obstacle to finding a durable solution,’ ” writes Breitbart.

Now the Senior Director for Intelligence at the National Security Council, Bitar will be in charge of the “most classified information” between the White House and our intelligence agencies.

The Biden Administration has also appointed Democrat Party Activist and affiliate of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) Reema Dodin as Deputy Chief of Staff for the White House Office of Legislative Affairs.

Joining the terror-linked CAIR while a student at the University of Berkeley, Dodin became a member of the Muslim Student Association and organized anti-Israel rallies.

While the second Intifada was underway in 2002, Dodin rationalized Palestinian suicide bombers to residents of Lodi, California stating “suicide bombers were the last resort of a desperate people,” reports the Lodi News-Sentinel.

“The Anti-Defamation League has criticized CAIR, saying its position as the ‘go to American-Muslim civil rights organization’ is ‘undermined by its anti-Israel agenda,’ dating back to its founding by leaders of the Islamic Association for Palestine (IAP), a Hamas affiliated anti-Semitic propaganda organization,” writes the Jewish Press.

Nominated as the Director of National Intelligence, Avril Haines served as deputy national security advisor and deputy CIA director under the Obama Administration. Haines made up one of thirty signatures of former intelligence officials calling for the DNC to “include language critical of Israel, express sympathy with the Palestinians and call for a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict,” reports the Jewish National Syndicate.
