The Democrat running for governor in California, the radically pro-abortion Xavier Becerra, who was Joe Biden’s health and human services secretary and formerly attorney general in his state, was asked how he would work for the black community if elected.
He immediately jumped to the problems found in the prison system.
He was asked, during a podcast interview, “Your black agenda. I’d be remiss if I didn’t ask you point blank. You’re asking for the votes of black Californians. Watcha gonna do for ’em?”
Becerra responded, “I want every black voter in California to look at me and say we gotta vote for this guy because he’s gonna give us an opportunity.”
He added, “What I’m not gonna do is I’m not gonna promise you 40 acres and a mule because I know what happens when you make those kinds of promises. I want to deliver. …”
Then he cited his work as the state’s chief law enforcement officer, explaining, “When I was AG I wanted to deliver … That’s why I took on this issue of cash bail, because I saw as attorney general that there were people who had not yet been convicted of a crime who were sitting in a jail. Why? Cause they didn’t have the money to bail themselves out. That’s not fair that’s not right. We’re going to fight for true opportunity true justice.”
